Los Angeles County Fire Dept - b9208 - 07-15-2011
Sure can, I'll see if I have a chance to post them later. From looking at the unit, they borrowed ideas from the LAFD Heavy Rescue. Both the LAFD and LA County rigs are set up to be both a heavy rescue (with a crane) or in a pinch a tow truck.
JFong and Image7801 - Thanks for all of the photos and information. Look forward to seeing the layout of Heavy Rescue 103. From what I learned through some courses I've attended over the last couple of years and some research on the topic, it seems that the LAFD and LACoFD both have established really positive working relations with some of the leading heavy recovery companies in the region. They have trained together and attended many of the same rigging and recovery courses. One of the departments even hosted a rotator class at their academy that was attended by both emergency service and private operators. The communication and training has led to some really positive outcomes in real-life incidents. The modern rotator gives some heavy duty lifting capability with a decent 30 to 50' radius, all with the set-up area of a modern ladder truck. They are a serious asset to have available, whether you're lucky enough to have your own or rely on private services. Thanks Again for all of the information. Gary Los Angeles County Fire Dept - b9208 - 07-15-2011
Gary, I will contact Chief Larry Collins (SOC) and see what I can find out for compartment photos of HR-103. Will send you anything I get. John
Thanks John Los Angeles County Fire Dept - Guest - 07-15-2011 Nice pic of all the truck form back up to the new one on Los Angeles Fire Dept.
