TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 The 2nd engine at 2's was this 1966 Mack C-95, 1000/500, Engine 418. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 Here is one of their ambulances from back then. It was a 1982 Chevy/Modular Corp. It was based at Station 3. Station 2 had a carbon copy of this one as well. They're still using Chevy chassis to this day. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 Next is Truck 4, which was this 1966 Mack B-85, 65 ft ladder. Sorry, but I can't find the photograph of the engine they had. It was a Mack CF engine . If I can find it I'll post it. They too had an ambulance as well. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 Next we'll head down to Central Station. First up is Rescue 1 which was a 1977 Chevy/ Unknown body (anyone have any ideas on who the body is from????) TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 One of the engines was this 1975 Mack CF, 1000/500, Engine 424. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 The second engine at Central was this 1969 Mack CF/Telesquirt, 50/1000/300, Engine 419. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 The other Truck Co. was housed at Central as well. It was this 1979 Mack CF/Pierce /Snorkel, 85 ft/1250/300, Snorkel 1. At the time I took these photos, Garland had only the four stations. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 The telesquirt was replaced with this 1981 Mack CF, 1000/500, Engine 11. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 Another reserve engine was this 1961 WLF Firebrand, 750/300. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 One of the engines at Central was replaced with this 1988 Pierce Arrow, 1250/500, Engine 12. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 Station 2 had one of their engines replaced with this 1988 Pierce Arrow, 1250/500, Engine 22. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 Garland bought their only E\-One which was this 1984 Hurricane, 1000/500 and originally had it at Station 2 but eventually moved it to 3's where I caught it one day. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 Eventually Garland discontinued the 2-engine stations and started buying quints which serve today as either an single engine or a truck company depending on the station they're assigned. Station 3 had an engine, truck and ambulance when I photographed their quint. It was this 1991 Pierce Lance, 75 ft/1250/300, Truck 3. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 Station 4 became a single company with this 1991 Pierce Lance, 75 ft/1250/300, Truck 4. It is now a reserve truck. I believe 4's still runs a quint and an ambulance at their station. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 Station 2 received this 1996 Pierce Dash, 1250/500/30f, Engine 21. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 Garland ventured out of Pierce waters and into Ferrara waters for a brief time. One of the three rigs they orderd was this 2001 Ferrara, 1250/500, Engine 3. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 Engine 9 received the other Ferrara engine. Same year and specs. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 The third rig they bought wasthis 2000 Ferrara, 75 ft/1055/500/20A, Truck 7. The word I got this weekend is that it will soon be replaced wth a Pierce Quint. The 2 Ferrara engines were sold but they will keep the Quint as a reserve. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 Garland has this 1999 FL/Hackney Heavy Rescue. Rescue 8 resides at Station 8 with an engine and an ambulance. When needed, the engine crew mans it. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-29-2007 Engine 8 runs with this 2004 Pierce Dash, 1500/500. |
