This past weekend Kelvin Carter (Kiddo76) and I ventured through several counties on the west coast, here are just a few of the beauties we captured.

Nice shots Alex! Hope you got more to post. North Port is in Sarasota County, not Charlotte.

Is it just me or is Florida obsessed with Quints?

Good2Go, I'd say you're correct, most aerial apparatus in Florida tend to be quints. Very few aerials are "dry trucks". Tampa has 2 of their 5 Truck Cos. without pumps/tanks, T1 and T14. T9 and T13 have pumps and hose but no water tank. T21 is a true quint. One of Tampa's spares is dry the other is a quint. Clearwater's two Truck Cos. and their spare are dry and St. Petersburg has one dry truck out of four, T1. Jacksonville has several TDA's as well. All of Orlando's Truck Cos. are Sutphen tower/quints and Orange county runs quint Truck Cos. also. Most small to medium departments run quints as Truck Cos. as well as Engine Cos. with TeleSqurts or FireStix. Miami Dade is the largest department in Florida and as far as I know all of their Truck Cos. are either true quints or pump equipped.

I knew st pete t-1 was a true truck and that 4 and 10 i believe were quints....but isnt 9s newer E\-One a true truck?

Dan, you are correct, T1 and the new T9 are straight trucks. T11, T13 and the spare are quints. As well, E1 running from Station 4 is a E\-One 75' RM aerial that used to be assigned to E7. It runs as an engine co. though.
