TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Engine 37 had this 1976 Mack CF, 1000/500 for a while. It replaced a 1956 Mack B that you might have seen on one of Steve Skaar's Houston postings. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Here is Amb. 1163 which was housed at Station 63, which serviced George Bush Airport and the far Northern part of Houston. It was a 1978 Chevy/Modular Corp. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Station 38 once housed one of several rescue companies in the city. They had their own 4 man crews and as I understand it they could add themselves to box alarms they weren't assigned to. These rigs were 1979 Ford/Koenig rigs. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Engine 1 at one time had this 1982 Seagrave 1500/500. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Booster 68 (568) had one of a hand full of 1980 Ford/FD built, HP/250 boosters. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Ladder 68 had this 1982 Seagrave/3-D, 100 ft/250/150, which you have seen before. This is the only Ladder 68 I have ever photographed and caught it when they came by Staion 82 while I was their. Sorry for the duplicate photo. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Engine 68 had this 1979 ALF Century/Telesquirt, 50 ft/1500/300. Were the tanks 3 or 500 gallons? My notes had 300. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Station 69 is a big Station, housing an engine, truck, Batt Chief, ambulance. Shortly after it first opned, they ran with the following rigs. First was Engine 69 which had thsi 1982 Spartan/Pirsch. 1500/500. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Ladder 69 had this 1982 Seagrave/3-D, 100 ft/250/150. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Engine 8 also had one of the 1979 ALF Century/Telesquirts, 50 ft/1500/500. Sorry for the picture quality again........ TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Another suburb city which borders Dallas in the north side is Farmers Branch. They have 2 stations at present and are about to open Station 3 in December and that will probably be the last station for them. First rig for them is this 1970's GMC/Summer Coach ambulance which was a BLS unit prior to them getting a paramedic program. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Another BLS unit they ran with was this 1970's GMC/Swab ambulance. I've been told that most Swab's could be found in the northern US which I believe as I only know of two that I photographed or ever saw. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Here is one of two 1964 Pirsch, 750/300 engines they had. This one was in reserve. I never was able to photograph the other one. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Engine 1 had this 1975 WLF, 750/500. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Engine 2 also had a WLF. Their's was a 1970 WLF, 750/500. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Station 2 also housed the "Flagship". It was a 1971 WLF 65 ft. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Engine 2 was replaced in 1982 with this Pemfab/E-One, 1500/500. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 In 1990 they acquired this KME, 55 ft/1500/300. It has since been sold. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 In 1993, Station 2 received this 1993 E\-One Cyclone, 75 ft/1500/500/30f. TEXAS RIGS - Guest - 10-30-2007 Station 1 received a 1995 Pierce Lance, 65 ft/1500/500 which met an early and untimely death when its telesquirt came in contact with an overhead powerline. It could not be repaired and was sold. |
