Empire State Oldies - Guest - 02-25-2009 John, me too. And I am still working on scheduling something here for March Empire State Oldies - matchot - 02-25-2009
John, me too. And I am still working on scheduling something here for March
Let me know about the March pixing trip also, and I'll try to make it as well, along with Greg W from Batavia. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 02-28-2009 Well I found a few more in my archives, so here we go. First up is this 1916 Ford Model T Chemical truck from the Wyoming,NY FD. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 02-28-2009 Next is this 19?? Gerstenslager Rescue Truck from the Pike,NY FD. I'm not sure if this rig is still around or still in service or not, but it was when I took this picture in 2006. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 02-28-2009 Next is this 1946 Chevrolet Tanker from the Sheldon,NY FD. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 02-28-2009 Next is this 1944 Ford/Sanford Engine which formerly served the South Otselic,NY FD. It is now privately owned. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 02-28-2009 And last up for now is this 1946 International/ALF engine which formerly served the Manchester,NY FD. This vehicle may still be owned by them, but I haven't seen it around in a couple of years. Hope you all enjoyed the latest installment of pics. More to come as I find them in my archives. Tim McLaughlin Photo csff25 Empire State Oldies - Guest - 03-06-2009 Next up are three trucks that came from the defunct Racquette River Fire department, all are owned by a collector friend of mine Richard " Dino" Toterelli. He now own by my guess 8 or 9 different trucks. First up a ALF that is also a ex-FDNY rig. Tim McLaughlin photo Empire State Oldies - Guest - 03-06-2009 Next up is a Chevy/Local tanker that was owned by the department. Tim McLaughlin Empire State Oldies - Guest - 03-06-2009 Next up is a Hahn, that came with the Racquette River trucks, it never was in service, in fact when he bought the three trucks, the paint on the sides was ground down to the bare metal! It is thought to have come out of New Jersey somewhere. Tim McLaughlin photo Empire State Oldies - Frank B - 03-12-2009 Oceanside NY I assume? Ford C rescue Photograph unidentified, Photographer unknown Empire State Oldies - Guest - 03-12-2009 I believe this to be a '56 GMC with body by Approved - probably the same truck later owned by Mays Landing, NJ. In spite of the Budd cab, it's not a Ford and not a tilt-cab, it's a cabover. If it's the same truck as Mays Landing's (there couldn't possible be more than one identical truck, could there?), my father briefly owned this truck when it was retired. Photo of Mays Landing's rig from somewhere else on this site!
Oceanside NY I assume? Ford C rescue Photograph unidentified, Photographer unknown
Oceanside NY would be a good assumption. That looks like a Cortez parked along side of it and the neighboring Baldwin FD ran a Cortez as a rescue. Both departments are also in the same county battalion. Very unique rig to say the least. Empire State Oldies - Frank B - 03-19-2009 Here is a shot of the Oceanside rescue with out the white roof Empire State Oldies - Frank B - 03-19-2009 Big Tree VFC Hamburg Twp NY First Aid Squad unknown photographer Empire State Oldies - fyreline - 03-19-2009 Big Tree's ambulance looks like a 1937 Hudson Terraplane. Syracuse used the same chassis for some District Chief's cars back then.
