Thanks for the O'Hare unit pictures.

Those were great shots of the O'Hare Field equipment, especially the shots of Engine 10. That is the only shot that I have ever seen of it with it's hose's actually hooked up and pumping water.

Speaking of Engine 10 would anyone know if they or any of the other O'Hare Field companies have gone ALS yet? I heard that they were talking about the possibility of converting them to ALS.

Good to see someone getting to utilize acquired structures. Our friends at FEMA are buying numerous flood damaged properties in my fire district, and steadfastly refuse to allow us to use them for any training, whether it be live burn, cutting the roof, etc. Government at its best...

Chicago Fire Department - Guest - 03-13-2010

Yup. 9. 10. Tl 63 all ALS as well as 29. 39. 74. T 58. E 122 t12

Chicago Fire Department - Ladder 68 - 03-13-2010

Is that E29 or T29 and E39 or TWR39 that is ALS?

Thanks in advance.

Chicago Fire Department - Guest - 03-13-2010

E 29 as well as T29 E39

While trying to shoot some CFD stations this morning on my way home from work I came upon the new Engine Co. 119 parked outside quarters.

And the 8th Battalion making the rounds at Engine 68's quarters

I found this copy neg of kinda poor quality , but it shows all the new E1 hurricanes lined up prior to delivery...very cool I just wish the quality was better

I count 16 rigs, sound right?

Phoenix IL is running one of those that they aquired in the last couple years, as long w/ one of the 1988 E\-One's.

I believe Chicago's 1985 E\-One purchase included 17 1250/500 pumpers, D#'s 489 through 505.

Chicago Fire Department - kenosha - 03-15-2010

Phoenix is using former CFD Engine 91 and Engine 72.

WOW great shot, classic rigs now. I always liked the Hurricane and the CFD set up was great. We had a number of them in the KC metro over the years. They are slowly fading away now.

KCFD had a fleet of Lime-Green 1987's with sedan cabs. Some of us called them the box cars since the had the square sedan cab. Pumper 12 actually was repainted red toward the end and looked really sharp. They all were gone by the end of the 1990's.

Stay Safe,

Rick
