Here it is in service as SWAC Engine 11 around 1992 or so.

South Metro placed the "new" Tender 39 in service yesterday.  It was sold by Brindlee Mountain and was originally yellow.  I don't know what department it came from but it was labeled with "92" and had a department name that started with EA and ended in Y...The shadow from those letters still remain on the back of the tank.

The chassis is a 1997 Freightliner with a 3,300 gallon water tank & 500 gpm pump.  It underwent a considerable refurbishment by the South Metro Shops.

You can still see the shadow from the original writing on the back of the tank.  I could make out "EA..." but not much more.

There's a booster reel located under the officer's seat but the rig does not have pump and roll capability.

I also shot Brush Engine 39 while I was there.  It's a 2000 International / E\-One with a 500 gallon water tank, 1250 gpm pump, CAFS system, light tower & bumper mounted turret.  It's one of two Type III Engines that serve South Metro's District and is always cross-staffed with Engine 39, the crew is all Wildland Team members.

South Metro also placed DeCon 3 in service recently, one of several MMRS Units delivered to the metro area.  It's being housed at Station 38 in Cherry Hills Village.

Awesome Shoop, thanks! I was hoping someone knew its origins. Do you have a photo of it as Tanker 92?

Castle Rock Fire Rescue held dedication ceremony's yesterday for their two new Engine's.  Although conditions weren't ideal for posed photos I was still able to get some decent shots of the rig set ups.  CRFD contracted with KME to build a standard Engine, a Rescue Engine and a Quint for a price tag just under 2 million dollars.  The Chief, Chaplain & Mayor all spoke before each rig was backed into the bay for the first time as an in service unit.

Rescue Engine 151 - 500 gallon water tank, 40 gallon foam tank, 1750 gpm two stage pump.  This is CRFD's busiest company.

As the Rescue Engine, E151 has added compartment space for cribbing and a full complement of extrication tools.  The ladder rack is electronic and allows for access into the compartments if needed when it'd down.  Booster reels made a come back on these rigs for rubbish and small vegetation fires.

CRFD designed both Engines with shoulder height hose beds.  All of the structural pre-connects are pulled from the hose bed and the only cross-lay is an 1.75" for vehicle fires.  The previous Engine had a bumper tray for the car fire line but on this unit it's been replaced with a winch and bin for a pony section of 5" supply line.
