Never saw something like that before.[/quote] That's affirmative on the self-levelling turntable...Montreal had two of them - originally Ladders 22 and 34. There were 4 hydraulic cylinders that could be manipulated to level the turntable from front to rear as well as side to side. The 63 vintage is slightly off the mark - they were delivered in 1960 and went in service in early 1961 as I recall. American LaFrance Apparatus - Guest - 09-06-2009 Regarding the self-leveling turntables, did'nt San Francisco run with a bunch of these? American LaFrance Apparatus - Guest - 09-09-2009 Here is our 231 finally in one piece. All lights & sirens are functional & decals are in place. American LaFrance Apparatus - Guest - 09-27-2009 The bottom shot is an International R-Series for Broome County Airport, Binghamton, NY. Will scan factory shots when time permits and post. Strange that when I shot it over 20 years after it was delivered, it still had the chains on! ![]() American LaFrance factory photo from the Mark A. Redman Collection ![]() Photo by Mark A. Redman |
