This next couple of shots were taken behind the now-defunct Yankee Coach plant on Rt.20, Palmer, MA.

Mount Kisco, NY, type III.

Ambulances - msm618 - 11-03-2008

Sloper-Willen Type III. Yankee Coach, as far as i can determine, concentrated on Type III's. Checking a builder's plate on a unit in ME, it stated the box was built by Providence body Co. 1987 photos.

Ambulances - msm618 - 11-03-2008

Nordstrom's (Lynn, MA) "car 8", pictured in front of St. Barnabas hospital, NYC. The box is a Wayne all-steel (later, all-rust!) that was purchased second-hand from Marlboro-Hudson ambulance (MA). c1981.

Ambulances - msm618 - 11-03-2008

NYC*EMS "bus" and NYPD RMP. The bus is a Grumman, the lightbar on the RMP is a Signal-Stat.

Shot this ambulance at a long-forgotten fire station in Vermont. The box appears to be an early 70's PL custom. Photo 1977.

I saw this in Marietta, GA today. According to the web, this is a 2006 Braun, from the Grafton Vol. Fire Department (www.graftonfiredept.com/apparatus.html) - in Wisconsin. Not sure what it was doing all the way down here for such a new vehicle. Looked just like the pic on their web site, other than the circle sticker just below the "852".

Looks like it might be a PL. We used to have a 1972 Ford F-350/PL that had a box very similar to that.
