Dunellen, NJ (Piscataway Twp, Middlesex County) still operates this Hahn Semi Cab. You can see that upgrades have been made over the years as there is now a full size Code 3 XL light bar over the windsheild.

This was South Tucson, Az FD Engine 2 which was a 1984 Hahn with Van Pelt bodywork. Is that info correct? Note the Van Pelt plates on the front and side.

Back to the not so great part of East St. Louis. Brooklyn, ILL in the daytime is a pretty safe place. Don't want to be there after the sun goes down. Driving by both rigs were out front, but some training was going on and the guys couldn't be bothered. So its this shot or no shot. NO Info on the rig other than E1312 is a Hahn. Anybody want to offer any??

Another Brooklyn, ILL Hahn. Here is E1311 out of service and not operating. Sorry for the angle, but since it couldn't be moved, again its this shot or no shot. Any info???? Thats it for my Hahn's.

Those Hahns in DCFD kept that city running when they had their fiscal crisis and had no money to buy apparatus. Or repair it. Bubble gum and bailing wire held them together and they still ran and ran and ran.
Even in their worst shape, they held up better than the Ford E-1 crap they bought, and had in either reserve or front line service

Don't forget The Hahn ID numbers are located on the front (officers) seat and pump panel
It makes ID alot eaiser!

This truck was refirbed when at Levitown in 1988.

Thanks for the info about where to find the Hahn serial numbers. After South Tucson disposed of theirs, I highly doubt there are any left in all of Arizona. Next time I get back to St. Louis, I'll try and visit Brooklyn and see what I can find.
A few guys years ago, educated me on the importance of serial numbers and told me what to look for and where. What does a Hahn serial number look like? Is it preceded by the word "serial" or another word??

See Post #61 62 & 63. # 63 is from the pump panel. 61 &62 are from the cab seat.
When I shoot with a digital camera, I take a quick photo of the information. Thanks for the nice post!

Tucson Az took delivery of two 1963 Hahn 1250 gpm pumpers
with Auto Car chassis/Cincinnati cabs,
These were the only two Hahn's delivered to the state.
The Stainless on the two Grill vents was added by Tucson.

Resqguy, you have eagle eyes! I did not notice this back in '01 and can only speculate that a different grille was installed during the mechanical work performed prior to going in service in Smock. You might be aware that this rig was a "problem child" while with MAVFD.

Yes, many of these photos are from Bill Schwartz and his collection that was given to Dick Adelman for safe keeping.
It is now at the Memphis TN Fire museum. It is available for viewing. In regard to why it was not given to SPAAMFAA, there was issues regarding the large size of Bill and Dicks collection. Bill wanted to preserve the entire collection and prevent it from being divided and parted out. The Adelman/Schwartz collection is larger then the SPAAMFAA collection at Hershey PA and it has photos from Jack Robrect, Jim Burner, Dick Adelman, Bill Schwartz and others.
It would be more convenient for me if the collection was at Hershey, because I live about 1 hours drive from Hershey.
I made one trip to Memphis and I did not have enough time to look thru the whole collection. My only limitation is the cost of transportation, with gasoline going for over $2.00 a gallon. It has prevented me from reasearching as much as I would like to. If I could, I would like to scan the whole collection for SPAAMFAA. This has been my goal. Modern computers make many photos available to the public, but it takes time to do this.
Bill and Dick wanted to make these photos available to people reasearching fire apparatus. I have permition from Bill Schwartz and Dick Adelman to use these photos, to post on Fire Pics and other sites, and for building Arcive collections.(Not for publication)
Some photos also were from John Floyd. John lives in Laurel MD and is currently selling many nice fire apparatus photos on E-bay. (Bernie the Bootlegger) I noticed that many of John's photos were identical to those posted by Scott Madison (Thanks Scott)
John told me a few of the photos were taken in groups, where many photographers were present. I also have a few photographs that were given to be from Bill Schwartz that were shot the same day, but at different angles. I purchased many photos from John Floyd. I also have his permition to use these photos. Please let me know if you recognize any of these photos. I have lost some photographer information and I would like to give the proper credit.

Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Engine 8-4, a 1985 Hahn 1250/750. Recently sold to I believe was Harrington FC in Kent County, Delaware. Last in service as Engine 10-5.
This is the only Hahn ever owned by Newark.
