Chicago Fire Department - Ladder 68 - 08-05-2006 Please, post what you have. Great history. Thanks for sharing them. Chicago Fire Department - Guest - 08-05-2006 If I may ask what does the green light on the rigs mean. Sorry I'm from NYC area the green here mean the command post. Or volly ems. Thanks Chris Chicago Fire Department - CFD Adv207 - 08-05-2006 That wrecker is pretty sweet, I am guessing that would only be on the street if a rig was involved in a wreck and was not driveable? And that is a very unique DDC car for O'Hare. Those squad pictures add perspective to the many apparatus that have been used as squads in the city since the disbanding of the Snorkel Squads. Thanks Chris[/quote] It's a Chicago thing, one of the chief in the early moter era had a nautical background so he wanted red lights on the port side of the apparatus and green on the starboard. I am sure someone else can give you a fuller explanation but that's what I have read. Chicago Fire Department - Guest - 08-08-2006 Oh ok cool thanks for the info.
