Has MFD apparatus ever carried the same number for all vehicles assigned to a particular station? In Dallas, everything except chiefs carry the station number they are assigned to (BCs carry the district they answer in).

Not that I'm aware of. I've only been on for two years now, but from what I understand, the next number is slapped on there and assigned to where its going to go. However, there is currently no Truck 1 in the fleet. I have heard the next truck company put into service will be Truck 1, not Truck 29.

Nope never have numbered companies like that.

Correct. They are in sequential order by type of apparatus.
Only the pumper carries the number on the house.
Hence for example Rescue 1, 2, & 3. Not Rescue 25, 27, & 36 because they are housed there.
Trucks, Chiefs, and Units (ambulances) all work out the same way.

Light Water 1 is at Fire Station 20. Its trailer full of foam. Light Water 2 is no longer in service. It carried 5 gallon buckets of foam. I hear now there is an 18-wheeler trailer at the training center full of foam, not sure.

Light Water is the Name of 3M's line of AFFF Foam products. If I remember correctly , Memphis placed these units in sevice about 25 years ago for large scale flammable liqid fires. The Foam in the trailer, I assume is probably 3 or 6% meaning that you perportion it at 3 or 6 gallons of concentrate to either 94 or 97 gallons of water, giving you 100 gallons of foam. How much foam soes the LW unit carry ?

I'm looking for info on the fleet of Ward LaFrance pumpers that were delivered to Memphis over the years. The delivery list I have shows a total of 19 rigs between 1965 and 1979. For each one, I'm looking for the pump and tank sizes and which Company it was first assigned to. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

KFD your correct. LW1 carries 4000 gallons if I remember correctly ?
