They used to each have a different number which was causing confusion with mutual aid departments & dispatch centers. They're certainly gotten their money out of that Seagrave... They all speak very highly of it and are proud to use Chicago style hose configurations. I think they're the only FD in the metro area that uses 4" supply line. Denver Metro Fire Apparatus - Guest - 11-13-2013 Today South Metro Fire Rescue placed the new Engine 33 in service. Here the old and new Engine 33's are posed together. The old rig (Shop #331) is a 2000 E\-One Cyclone with a 750 gal water tank and a 1250 Hale pump. It originally entered service as Engine 31 and moved to Station 33 earlier this year. Denver Metro Fire Apparatus - Guest - 11-13-2013 Engine 33 is a 2013 Pierce Velocity with a 750 gallon water tank & 1500 gpm pump. Denver Metro Fire Apparatus - Guest - 11-13-2013 This is the spec that all the new SMFR Engines will generally follow. Outlaying companies will have 1,000 gallon tanks and city engines will keep their 750. This is only the second new rig with number decals instead of the removable plexi numbers. The painted bumper with recessed Q-Siren is unique to this engine from the one placed in service earlier in the year. Per the chief of fleet services, a chrome or painted bumper will be the choice of the company from this point on. For 2014 - A new Engine with this spec will go to Engine 42. A new Pierce Velocity mid-mount tower ladder is going to Tower 32. A Ford F-550 / Oshkosh Stinger is going to Red 2 at Firehouse 35. Two new Ford / PL custom medic units and a Type 3 wildland engine are also approved. Denver Metro Fire Apparatus - airlacey440 - 11-13-2013 Pictures are great. Although the Squad routinely functions as a truck, Englewood now relies on mutual aide for a ladder or a tower as their only aerial is a 65' Tele-Squrt. Unknown Photographer. Although I do not know the name of them, those are remote spot lights, similar to the Go Light. Trav! Up to this point, I didn't even know who made them. Anyone familiar, how do these compare to the Go Light? I've looked in to getting the later for our Engine. Thanks, Trav! Denver Metro Fire Apparatus - Image7801 - 02-03-2015 I just saw South Metro's new Pierce Velocity Tower 35, Littleton's CF Engine 16 and two more Velocity's for Denver (don't know who's getting them)on Pierce's site. The tower looks great. I wonder how it compares in length with the Sutphens? It seems quite a bit longer. |
