End of an era here gang. Baltimore is seding to the auction block Engine 33 and Truck 49 from the movie "Ladder 49" First up is the 74 Seagrave that ran as Truck 7, RT 42, T20, then Truck 49. What a shame hope they don't get cut up

Next up is Engine 33 from the movie. This Engine was originally Engine 8 a 1990 Sutphen. Sorry about the quality and fence in both shots.

Where's Andy Leider when you REALLY need him?!!! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/stirpot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Stirpot' />

Exactly. I went by the station they used and the city has old Engine 24 the 48 Mack (with a blown motor) old Air Cascade 2 and the old Command Unit. I will post the pics of the station in fire station pictures.

Relics - ifightfire - 06-11-2008

Any info on the auction? How would one be lucky enough to take one of these jems home?

Relics - Guest - 06-11-2008

Best bet is to contact the city shops for that answer. I would say not for a while because they usually fill this lot up with surplus equipment like old trash trucks police cars etc. The only thing in the lot right now is 33/49 I do know that you need to have a dealers license to attend and bid.

Relics - dcfdtech - 06-11-2008

Gravenut,

I thought the city was going to keep these two pieces for movie purposes. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/shrug.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Shrug' /> I guess not. Where is that lot located??

Relics - Guest - 06-12-2008

Hanover Street and Dickman Street. Right before the Hanover Street before Hanover Street Bridge.

After a couple of years trying to purchase this unit, being told it was going to be kept and restored, I will find out this Monday (June 9th) if it will be mine or not. Everyone pray for me!

Well, is it yours?

I think this rig was also used as RT-39 before being placed back in first line as Tr-20 for a period of time.

Relics - Guest - 06-12-2008

Rt 39 was the refurbished Seagrave that was old Truck 20 the 78 Seagrave. It was orange and white and when they took it from 20 they sent it out and it came back RT 39. The sure wired stuff down there

I was out bid, Rocky Keplinger got it for $2857. If they would have sold it to me a year ago I would have given them $5000 for it, but I have bought a new house since then and the extra funds weren't there. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' /> Oh well, I will try to contact him and tell him to let me know when he plans to sell it to call me.

It may be small comfort now but rest assured it's in a good home! We might even see it next year at Apple Blossom. Here's a shot of one of his transporters.

Phil, Bklyn.

Hey Andrew, I think this is just an old fuel tanker - but....rest assured, it's ok that you photographed it because I think it might have driven past a fire once!

RRRRR!!!! I kill me!!!!! Yes, I know it's a fire truck, just busting your chops!

I was wondering if you were able to dig up anymore information on this truck.

I found this truck at the District 6 DCR office in Carlisle, MA. No markings what so ever on this truck.

Not yet. I know I've seen something on this rig, or one just like it, but I just can't seem to put my hands on it. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/shrug.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Shrug' />

1973 or newer Chevy/Pierce, probably with a 1000 GPM pump.

Relics - ddoyle195 - 06-17-2008

This one myself and a fellow firepixer's seen a few month's ago and got a good laugh. It's not everyday you see an old fire truck chassis driving down the road teamed up with a rear body other than a firetruck body. We thought it may be an older Sutphen chassis, however could it be an older Duplex chassis, or Pirsch, or Howe? I'm sure the original color was not green on this truck either. I apologize for the poor quality of this pics, but 30 seconds after I shot this rig the heaven's started unloading. I dought I"ll get back up this way, this truck was located at the corner of Kenmore Avenue & Englewood Avenue in Buffalo, NY. As you can see the truck now is used with a tree cutting service.
