State Of Conneticut - hoss - 07-17-2011 East Hartland from over near Bradley Airport State Of Conneticut - hoss - 07-17-2011 Repost for sure, but it is one of the few slimed trucks I can tolerate - Riverton's (frequent parade trophy winner) Tanker. State Of Conneticut - hoss - 07-17-2011 Sharon's Tower beat Winsted for the Ariel Trophy State Of Conneticut - hoss - 07-17-2011 Old Mack that once served Canaan, it was owned by their Chief John Foley who passed away 7-7-10 during a stress test! They dedicated the overall trophy to his memory. I believe his son(s) now have the control over this truck and the REO Comet he had. These trucks are in running condition, but otherwise pretty tough shape, hopefully the guys can get them spruced up a bit. State Of Conneticut - hoss - 07-17-2011 Winsted Tac 8 another one of the state provided prime haulers for the foam trailer. State Of Conneticut - hoss - 07-17-2011 Comparison Shot - Morris Rescue with Bethany's sweetheart Mack pumper. State Of Conneticut - hoss - 07-17-2011 Speaking of sweethearts - Warren's 1946 Dodge/Maxim one of the first trucks I shot when I was first getting into fire photography. It has a really cool wooden compartment under the hose bed for flag parade gear storage. I was talking with a former chief of Washington apparently this one and Washington's got mixed up and the factory, some creative paperwork and serial numbers resulted. State Of Conneticut - hoss - 07-17-2011 Southbury comes up to Canaan regularly, they got to be from good ways away (google says about 50 miles one way) as I've never been there and I've been most places in NW CT at one point or another... State Of Conneticut - hoss - 07-17-2011 Bantam State Of Conneticut - hoss - 07-17-2011 From over in Hartford County - Canton Ambulance State Of Conneticut - hoss - 07-17-2011 Cornwall's Brush Buggy - right tool for the job, but not a trophy winner. State Of Conneticut - hoss - 07-17-2011 Sharon's Reo, I think they have another Reo that is older and in better shape at least as far as looks go, maybe this one runs better <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/shrug.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />. The step van in the background was Canaan Fire Company's Truck 14 at one point, it is now for sale by the garage who had been using since it went out of service about 6 or 7 years ago. State Of Conneticut - hoss - 07-17-2011 New Hartford Ambulances NH 2 & 3 a Life Line and Horton respectively State Of Conneticut - hoss - 07-17-2011 Fireworks to end the night of hotdogs, fried dough and good times! My shooting buddy Brian Dillon has some photos from the line of march to also my dept took the best in shirts out of state trophy we were the only ones marching in shirts from out of state, but a win is a win right? Here's his shot of me with the award I was running on about two hours of sleep, gotten two more since then, well worth it though. My decent fireworks shot. State Of Conneticut - Guest - 07-17-2011 I like the tradition of the parades, is there any flack from the public these days about taking rigs to parades...I know we copped grief over here about washing rigs etc and taking them out of area, the public say "they can't be to important if you can take them to parades" State Of Conneticut - Guest - 07-17-2011
Speaking of sweethearts - Warren's 1946 Dodge/Maxim one of the first trucks I shot when I was first getting into fire photography. State Of Conneticut - Guest - 07-17-2011
Marched in the Canaan Fire Company 100th Anniversary Parade last night took a few shots before and after grand event. Colebrook has placed this former FLA medic rig into service as a utility/rescue unit.
Where in Florida? Looks like an ex-Jacksonville FRD unit.
Sounds right - I spoke to someone from Colebrook awhile ago and I think it might well have been Jacksonville it came from. |
