Mack Fire Apparatus - smketrfdny - 10-23-2011

Found this on Ebay posted as a 1979 with a gasoline engine. No doubt our Mack expert can tell us more.... Mike? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

CF611F-1254

Looks like an old FDNY, but I don't recall gas engines in FDNY CF's. And the warning lights on the front puts it as a much earlier year, IIRC.

Stay safe, Brothers.

You may be right, Brother. But it really looks like an early FDNY CF, the front warning lights may put it as early as a 69-70 (Mike?). And I do not recall any CF's in the FDNY fleet that were 707's. Again, no doubt Mike M. has our answers...........

Stay safe, Brothers.

The squared off cab is a FDNY spec. The last CF with a 707 C Thermodyne was built in 1973 and went to Earlsville, NY. The serial # on the E-Bay CF that is advertised shows 611, that designates the Thermodyne diesel. The lollypop lights on the front of the cab went out in late 1970. In 1970, FDNY purchased 80 CF's that had the squared CF cab, Thermodyne Diesel, and 74 had 400 gallon booster tanks, 4 had 750 gallon booster tanks, and the last two had 300 gallon booster tanks and 54' Squirts. Not sure if they have the serial # is right. Lower Burrell's CF was 1209 and that was delivered in late 1970. F.D.N.Y. had 4-door cabs delivered in 1971 beginning with serial # CF611F(10)1428. Lets see what Mike has to say.

Wonder if he would sell the bumper and the suction rack. Though i think the 1980 Macks (with MP79 shop numbers) carried racks for 3.

Here's the aforementioned Earlville (Madison County) NY rig. This disappeared from Earlville about ten years ago, whereabouts unknown...and so is the photographer.
