At least two Condor-models were built for the emergency service. The Condor 150 for Vienna Airport/Austria was built on an International chassis with Cargostar cab. I can post a pic of this one. The Condor 125' for Malmo Fire Department / Sweden was the very last Calavar boom built (about 1986). Juergen THINGS FROM MY COLLECTION - Guest - 07-28-2012
Prince Frederick, MD Truck # 2 was this beautiful 1975 Maxim 100' ladder. Mattson Collection <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
New Orleans operated two Maxims that were nearly identical to this one. Supposedly, the NOFD need to purchase two trucks in either 1975 or 1976 and Maxim was the only company that had two demo units ready to go. One went into service downtown as Ladder 2 and the other went to the "Gert Town" section of New Orleans as Ladder 7. As is customary with many FDs, the NOFD fleet is very "fluid" and these Maxims moved around a bit during their career. One of them eventually made it to Ladder 4 in the Lower 9th Ward and the other went to the "spare" pool. Both ended their careers in the mid-90's when the main ladders failed their inspections due to corrosion.
