Mehlville's 2 new ambulances, and Lemay's new ambulance, all from Osage, and on the Chevy C4500 chasis, have been delivered and can be seen on Osage's website.

We need a shot of the new Mehlville 1770, the Smeal/Spartan. From what I hear, it's parked at the shop at Station 6.

Also, has anyone gotten a pic of Clayton's new 3212? The picture from the city newsletter doesn't do it justice.

The 2 new Mehlville ambulances are in service. 1717 and 1727. They are fairly nice looking, I kinda like the red/black chevrons they have. Ill try to get pics of the Mehlville and Lemay units ASAP. The new Lemay ambulance has not been placed into service as of 9 pm tonight. The new 1770 is not yet inservice either, the rear of it was seen at the shops.

Is that a REAL Q siren or an electronic Q? The bell looks great. What is the ground ladder compliment?

Thanks in advance it is sharp looking.

Stay Safe,

Rick

Looks like its a real Q recessed into the front bumper. Ground ladders look to be in excess of 100 ft. It looks like they have 3 or 4 extension ladders stored in the rear. Im sure Clayton did it right, they pride themselves on the hi-rise gigs. I am a big fan of the led track lights inside the compartments

Thanks for the link to Clayton's new 3212. Very sharp rig! Guess I'll be seeing it soon on some Maplewood 1st Alarms.

Heres a quick shot of Mehlville's new Spartan/Smeal. First non-Pierce rig purchased in 20 years. Thanks to Mehlville FF/Medic and Muddy River FOOLS member Jason Isgrigg for the pic.

I remember this truck! The engine was louder than the siren. And it put off a nice thick, black exhaust cloud!

I like this comparison shot of the newer 1752 with the old. There is quite a size difference between past and modern

You can thank Mehlville's board for not going with another Pierce this time around. This was Aaron Hilmer's doing. Since he and his cronies on the board cut the tax rate, with the district residents' blessings, I doubt that we'll see any more Pierces in Mehlville.

1770 would've been much better-looking with a Spartan Gladiator Classic cab, IMHO. The Sirius just doesn't do a whole lot for me. And how about some Code 3 or Whelen LED lighting! They've stuck with the old school-looking Power Arc light bar. Gross. Another minus in my book for that one. Spotlights on the cab? Another old school idea. That's what those 2 brow lights and the quartz lights on either side of the pump panel are for! It's 2010, not 1990!

I remember when that '73 Seagrave ladder truck was solid red, had 2 red gumball lights, and was called 'Ladder 1'. Its Detroit diesel was so loud you could hear it coming a mile away! That was a great truck to get a roll-by going Code 3 back in the day!

Great comparison shot seeing the size difference, especially the one from the rigs being nose-to-nose. You don't always realize how the modern rigs have gotten larger until you see a pic like that!

have to agree with you on there new truck do not like nothing about it at all what a joke. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Hysterical' />

As a fire apparatus enthusiast, I have nothing against Smeal. I just feel that a Spartan Gladiator Classic cab would've looked better on 1770. Go to Smeal's website and see for yourself under "New Deliveries." There are a couple of black-over-red pumpers on there that look so much better with the Classic cab, IMHO.

I wouldn't doubt if Mehlville sticks with Smeal, as a few more of their pumpers will be due up in the next few years to be replaced.
