The EMD Locomotive Facilty at McCook, IL had this little in-plant fire suppression unit. Can anyone provide information? Mattson Collection <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Usa' />

Looks like they had 2 of them, they are numbered 1 and 2 if you look closely.

Was just at the Catskill Fire Cats Muster at Andy Lieder's facility in Circleville NY. He has the exact same type of unit, (if not this one), in his vast collection of apparatus. It is not in the condition pictured.

Looks like a tour/open house going on. That would have been fun!

THINGS FROM MY COLLECTION - fyreline - 08-05-2012

I know that Young Fire Equipment built some in-plant fire engines of this type called the "Youngster", but they looked slightly different from the unit pictured. Local Syracuse apparatus manufacturer Sanford also built a few on Kalamazoo industrial truck chassis . . . Maybe this is one of those?

ANSUL would be a good guess - they built a number of industrial plant units, particularly with dry chem/CO2 suppression components...thanks for sharing TASCman

That little industrial rig was built by John Bean and has the typical 70 GPM high pressure pump. I have photographed one similar down in Florida.

Thanks for all the chatter regarding the EMD brigade rig. This would be an interesting topic to explore in greater detail. I attended the 2012 SPAAMFAA Winter Meeting in Gettysburg, PA this past February and Tom Herman had a in-plant brigade unit on display that was built by OREN. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/fireman.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Fireman' />

Here's another plant brigade unit that was operated by General Motors in Baltimore, MD. Mattson Collection <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Usa' />

WOW!!! Thanks for posting, this truck later served my hometown VFD of Burnsville,NC. I can vaguely remember visiting the fire station in the early 90s (I know, that wasn't very long ago for many of you) as a kid when this truck was a front line piece. It is now privately owned by a collector in Granite Falls,NC.

Last for this evening is this 1984 Ford C8000/TASC pumper built for the Hampton Lakes VFC of Southampton Township, NJ. Serial # 101 was the final TASC pumper built. It employed a Hale QLF-1000 pumper and a 1000 gallon water tank. Contract price was $ 127,500.
