Garden State Oldies - Guest - 12-07-2008 Lebanon bought a 75 foot ALF Water Chief that was going to Mexico. The lettering of the Water Chief and Engine 18-62 were done to Match. I am not sure when Lebanon got the Water Chief - I think it was one or 2 years after it was built as Mexico could not buy all that were built and this was then offered to Lebanon. Until they got rid of the Truck, the warning labels were in BOTH english and spanish! Here is my shot of Ladder 18-69 in the late 1990's. Garden State Oldies - Guest - 12-07-2008 1964 Jeep Pick Up started with the Quakertown Fire Company. At the time The QFC ran 1 Mack CF and 2 Mack R engines.... The Then Chief said "NOTHING WITHOUT A BULLDOG WILL BE IN THIS HOUSE!" Sooooo If you look the Mack Bulldog was ADDED Before it backed in. Around the Early 1980's the truck was sold off when QFC got a new Ford Pick-Up with slide in pump as a Brush Truck. The new owners - Pattenburg Fire Co - kept the truck Red and also the Bulldog on the hood. I do not know if the Jeep is still around. PFC bought a new brush truck about 2 years ago. (Pattenburg is almost 100% LIME - all but one type 505 Mack) Garden State Oldies - Guest - 12-07-2008 Here is Pattenburg's 505 Mack... 1952 500GPM - 300 Tank 1st Photo from the Mid-70's - STILL IN SERVICE! 4th of July - LEBANON 2nd shot almost 30 years later - 4th of July - LEBANON. The Bay Head ALF is sharp--sad to see that go. What are they going to replace it with? The original Century cab from this rig, removed when it was refurbed, was placed on this rig. It was originally From Lebanon, NJ and the was sold to Sea Bright. I dont know for sure the timeline of what dept. had the work done, but this is the end result. When I shot the dept. in 1996 I was told that this refurbed rig from Oliver Byron was wrecked in a roll over accident in the early-mid 1990's[/quote] Mike, Great photos and history, as always! I bought this engine from the dealer around 1979-80. I had for 6 mos or when I received a cold call from an attorney from Toronto,Ont. I subsequently sold it to him.
