Finally for today, Engine 31 in Wethersfield was this unique 1989 Sutphen with Ranger bodywork. It is equipped with a 1500 gpm-pump and carries 550 gallons of water and 150 gallons of foam. Note the unusual location of the foam-tank with the front-turret. Mark A.Redman photo - Juergen Kiefer collection.

Guys, anyone from the northwest secition of CT? I'm possibly buying a truck that was apparently a brush truck in that end of the world. I was told Norfolk. Its a 1986 Dodge W350 dually, red, 4 speed stick. BEAST of a rig. Just curious if i could find a photo when it was in service. Just for Gits and Shiggles <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

I am fairly familiar with Norfolk's fleet over the years, (they are a mutual aid company) and that doesn't ring any bells, but I've posted it on my wall where the Norfolk guys will likely see it. They had a Dodge weapons carrier at one point that I've posted a snapshot of a while back. It was certainly a lot older than 1986 though, 68? If so I'll thumb wrestle you for it!

Updated info - http://norfolkfire.org/ has the Dodge WC as a 1953, but they also call it a Jeep (pretty sure it is a Dodge). They also list a 1953 Dodge pumper and the only thing listed in the previous apparatus from the 1980's is a tanker.

That makes more sense - if it is this truck I'd take you on in a two handed thumb wresting battle AND a best of 3 rock paper, scissors war for the truck!

Sorry Hoss a) I'd keep it quiet if I got my hands on a mint WDX power Wagon and b ) askCFRRig (Mark Redman) it would be tough to go head to head with me in ANY form of physical contest <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

I did go see the truck today, BIG Dodge....rear spring packs were almost a foot thick. Had to be an ex brush rig.
