Empire State Oldies - Guest - 04-15-2009 Rotterdam, Ny 1968 American LaFrance/pioneer 1250/500 Eng-3 Ron Bogardus collection Empire State Oldies - Guest - 04-18-2009 This is a picture of a 191? or early 2?'s, American Lafrance tractor that once served at the Rail City yarrd in Sandy Pond NY. In the background is John (cnyfiretruck) and Dave ( fyreline) We took shots of six trucks that at the time were inside ( for lack of a better word) of a old run down building on the grounds. The ALF was part of a TDA and featured hard rubber tires. Dave or John got some numbers of of the old girl , but I'm not sure if we ever found out who owned the truck before it came to Rail City. All that is left to rail city now is a museum located in the old station on the grounds and is open by appointment in the summer. It is a late 30's Ford/ALF engine that first serve at Fort Oswego in Oswego NY just before/during and just after WWII. The Fort was home to a Polish refuge camp during the war years. After the war the little Ford was given to the City and now is part of the City of Oswego's fire museum.. Unsure to where I found it other than the on the net.
