Engine 21 at Montross is this well kept 1993 Pierce Lance 1250/1000 with job number E8075.

Westmoreland's tanker duties are handled by Tanker 2, a 2003 Pierce Dash 1000/2000 with job number 14070. Are you sensing the folks at Westmoreland like Pierce fire trucks?

I posted these awhile back in this thread, but this will help with the connection on the remainder of apparatus at Westmoreland.

Montross runs this large brush unit as their Brush 2.....

The three Pierce's just posted, this brush truck, and several utility vehicles run from the main Montross station.

The Westmoreland VFD also has a sub-station in Mt. Holly which houses two trucks. Again, these were posted before but just connecting the dots.

Leesburg sold this when they placed two 2007 Seagrave black over red engines in service.

Housed with the 1988 Pierce is this 1984 Chevrolet 70/E-One 750/1000. It basically is used as a tanker and carries very little equipment. E\-One serial number 3646.

From Montross and the Westmoreland VFD I came to Oak Grove, VA which is also located in Westmoreland County. I have driven by this station a number of times finding no one home and not having the time to try and track someone down. Today was different and I found two folks at the station who were extremely nice and took the time to move apparatus around for photos.

First up is Wagon 4, a 1988 Pierce Lance 1250/750 with job number E4223. Prior to Oak Grove, this Pierce ran at Bowie, Maryland in Prince George's County.

I know there is a story behind this engine...a variety of rehab's have caused me some confusion.

Here is what I have and I am hoping for that some clarification can be added.

This engine began life as a 1976 Ford C/Oren 1000/1000 with the Middleborough, Maryland VFD in Baltimore County. It ran as Engine 233. It was lime/white in color.

At some point, it was wrecked or rehabed (1990?) and a 1987 Spartan cab was added to it. Other notes I have on this truck also show it was wrecked and a 1990 Spartan cab was added. At some point (I believe 1997), it was then sold to the Fountaindale, Pennsylvania VFD. Oak Grove purchased the truck from Fountaindale and painted it red and white. To further my confusion, I have a note on the back of one of my older photos in my collection that a cab may have come from an Annapolis, Maryland FMC engine (Engine 361).

So, after all of that, I have it as a.....

1990 Spartan/1976 Oren/1990 Mason Dixson

1000/1000

The only thing I could find on this engine was stickers showing Baltimore County FD inspected the engine during the 1990's. No other plates, etc.

HELP!!

Tanker 4 at Oak Grove is this 2005 International 7600/E-One 1250/3000 with serial number 130432.

This is what Tanker 4 replaced. This Mack had been sitting to the rear of the Oak View VFD for some time and it was recently sold.

Brush 4 at Oak Grove was obtained via a U.S. Fish and Wildlife grant. It is a 2002 Ford F350/Wildfire 125/300/6.

And last from this group is the Oak Grove, VA station.

The brush truck and a Suburban take the front in each bay. Behind them are the two engines and tanker. Engine 4 (the 1990 Spartan) sits directly in the middle and two trucks need to be moved out to get it out.

Hope you enjoyed this group.

Glad to hear you are doing better Mike. A buddy of mine sent me a picture of the new Truck 6 at Ashburn. It looks really good, I can't wait to see pictures of it when it gets finished.

I forgot to mention the train horns on the Pierce (top of cab). I was told that they are not used for response or at an emergency scene....just for parades. From what I understand, the Colonial Beach VFD (not to far from Oak Grove) has a rather loud fire/rescue parade each year. That is probably why the horns were added.

Colonial Beach advertises their Parade as the loudest on the East Coast.

Mike,

You were close!

The chassis is from the Middleborough, MD (Balto.County E233) 1976 Ford C8000/Oren, The cab is from Annapolis, MD E361 1987 Spartan/FMC.

Annapolis wrecked it during 1989 and was sent to Mason Dixon for repairs. They replaced the Spartan cab with a new 1989 Spartan cab.

Middleborough sent thier Ford/Oren to Mason Dixon for rehab in 1990 and the repaired ex Annapolis 1987 Spartan cab was placed on the Ford chassis.

1995 Middleborough sold the pumper to Fountaindale, PA (Adams County E3-1). It was rehabbed during 1996 again by Mason-Dixon. Until now I

didn't know where it wound up. I know Fountaindale placed it up for sale sometime in 2005.

Hope this helps some.

Jeff
