The grill appears to be that of an F-700 or F-800 Ford, I'm guessing this rig was constructed upon that chassis?

Quniton Township, NJ is located deep in the southern part of the Garden State in Salem County. At one time, they operated this 1972 Ford C/Great Eastern (Oren) pumper equipped with a 750 gpm pump and a 1000 gallon water tank. There were many similar units in service in this area during the 70s and 80s. I just got off the phone with a former driver of this rig. He told me that it had a 250 GPM pump and carried 250 gallons of water, 25 gallons of foam and 25 gallons of wet water. He also stated that it was useless as ____ on a bull.

Not sure of the year of the Maxim, but this was originally Truck 1 and was replaced in 1980 by a ALF/LTI tower. Once the ALF/LTI was in service at Co. 1, this Maxim was sent to Company 4 in Paramus where it was Co. 4's first ladder truck. A Hahn/LTI replaced the Maxim in 1985. The Hahn/LTI is still in service. Co. 1's ALF/LTI was replaced in '03 by a Pierce platform.
