There was only one county owned Ferarra unit. Nokesville has a few and the county has a new Pierce on order.

Where did the OWL shops move to?

Put the red steel wheels back on JR, it looked mean. Now it looks kind of alternate life style.

This Saturday Reserve Truck 518 went into service as Truck 513 while Tower 513 is out for PM. After about 2 hours of equipment switch over she hit the streets. For a truck that is 20 years old she drives and handles great.

All of the upgrade work done by DCVFD, AFE, and OWL shops.

All of the emergency lights where up graded to LED's as well as many exterior lights, new scene lights, all interior and compartment lights upgraded to LED’s. Many of the compartments and the cab layout was upgraded, SCBA cylinder tubes over the rear wheels, and a tune up on the engine and aerial where done.

We hit a delay with AFE closing but its out and running the streets now. Enjoy

Thanks for posting the pix of the DCVFD-OWLVFD reserve ladder truck. Interesting to note how the exterior compartments are set up almost identical to the 1988-89 E\-One tandem axle 110's purchased by Fairfax County.

Sr,

Your right they are very close. We looked at those trucks since Singer is selling them but they are way tired and would take a lot to get them into shape. Plus they dont have a pre piped waterway.

A red truck with Dale City & OWL markings on it...the poor citizens of the County will think it's the end of the world.

Yes, the 89's are dogged out. I rode one a few months back as a reserve when I did an over time shift.

Speaking of...The E\-One graveyard at Singer.

I believe the unit previously used by Dale City (when their Tower was OOS) is on the far right

Pittsburgh purchased a couple of the 1987 Single Axle 110's about two years ago. They look pretty rough, but in better shape than most of the Pittsburgh fleet at the time. It is slowly getting better in the city though. I have them posted on my website.

It was my understanding that DCVFD was working on restoring the 1973 Hahn pumper. I think the Hahn thread had it in various stages of teardown. Has the rebuild been completed and are there any pictures of the finished product?

Prince William County VA - drfeelgood - 02-21-2009

Nate, yeah the one on the right is the one that Dale City used a few times. Rough but a good running truck.

Sr, The Hahn is still in the process of being restored. We haven't pushed it because of the construction of the new station 10 which the Hahn will become the center piece of the main lobby. I will be at East Penn next week to see how she doing and I will get some pics.
