Freightliner built only four of these custom-chassis, all in 1961. A pumper (shown in this topic before) and a Snorkel were built for Chehalis/WA, also a pumper and a Snorkel for Renton/WA. The bodybuilder of all 4 units was Westland Fire Apparatus, the successor of Roney Fire Apparatus from Portland/OR.Probably all 4 trucks are long gone. Here is the 1961 Freightliner Fireliner with Westland bodywork and 85' Snorkel, that was built for Chehalis/WA. Bill Hattersley photo Juergen |
