Thank god it is now off of the market - I thought I might have to put a bid in on to save the old girl. Good luck and hope to meet up with you some time!!!!

Frank:

That is the best news I have heard in a long time!

I was afraid someone else would be posting pictures of your Crown in this thread instead of you.

Now you can load it up with pictures of your apparatus.

Last night a friend of mine and I had some 5" and 2 1/2" hose that we loaded into the trucks hose bay. I never would have thought that this truck could have carried some much hose, we didn't put this much on, but for real purposes the truck carried 800' 5", 600' 2 1/2", and 300' of 1 3/4".

We don't have any 1 3/4" but for not that ok's. The truck looks better with a full load of hose......

All of this hard work and no photographic record of the hose lay?

Photos of your classic are always a welcome treat.

I will take some pics tomorrow, without the hose cover and the hose itself, and then with the hose cover back on. Truck looks naked without it. You know Florida, the only time it didn't rain, and it was sunny hot and humid was the 30 mins I scrubbed down the transverse hose lay cover and the rear hose bed cover, otherwise it rained all day long after and it's still freaking raining.

Without the hose the cover for the rear hose bed was starting to get chewed up the edges of the dividers, so it's good to have some hose on the truck, will not look so draped over, hmmmmm, let me see if I have a "before" pic, let me see, yep, got one right here.

To the right of the turntable the guys from Carmel had fashioned a silver plate to go around the turntable and it was screwed into the hosebed just for that one handle just to the right of the turntable itself, so it got removed, see how the covers just kinda hang there, should look better now, we'll see tomorrow, and that red door to the left, all repainted now. Looks good. Houses a radio and mic setup back there.

Well, got over to the garage today and had a chance to get a picture of the hose bed packed with the 5" hose and you can barely see to the left is hose bed full of 2 1/2, sure makes the hose bed look better and not so droopy as opposed to the picture I posted above. And while I was there polished up some of the diamond plate. Can't be there without doing something <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Blush' />

The difference if you can notice is with the outside rear pic of the hose bed is on the right side there was a alum plate with a handle that went around the right side of the truck, a friend of mine and I took this off to be able to add the amount of hose we had, which is why you dont see that chrome plate in the new pic

When Crown went with the hard top on my Squrt they removed the beautiful Chrome rails that ran down the jump seats of the truck, and then put them across the axes in a slightly different configuration, for me it bothers me because now you can't see those chrome axe handle brackets. I've been thinking it over, and with the help of another member tonight, off come those rails. See the pic before of what is there and how the axe brackets are being covered.

Before

1975 Crown 50' Telesquirt - Guest - 09-27-2007

And hopefully once completed, here is a older picture with just a handle under the axe brackets. I think it's going to look alot better and I can finally get in there and fix up those axe brackets with a little chrome polish, they will look sweet !!!

This is how I want to go back to, pick with the old handles.

1975 Crown 50' Telesquirt - Guest - 09-27-2007

Thanks to a good friend of mine in the club who has the greatest knack(sp) for finding a part from out of nowhere, also known as NAPA, he was able to find the same grab handles that were on the Crown when it was an open cab and took the old rails off and will keep them, should I decide to go open cab I will need these for the jump seat railins down both sides, so here is 2 pics, one right side and one left side before the change was made, and notice those nice chrome axe handles can barely be seen.

Now it's later in the night and these pics might not come out so great, but here is a pic with the change of handles and now access to those gorgous chrome Crown axe handles, right side first.

Crummy looking pics at night, but here is a pic with the change of handles and now access to those gorgous chrome Crown axe handles, left side.

1975 Crown 50' Telesquirt - Guest - 09-27-2007

I was tired by the time this was done and did not chrome the new handles or axe brackets, will save that for over the weekend. I think it looks much better.
