Not there anymore, unknown what happened to it. Is Ambridge's a twin or the same rig?

These guys, along with Hopwood, are cohosting the Fayette County Firemen's Convention this year.

I do not believe the Farmington ALF Pioneer Snorkel is an X Williamsport PA rig. West Branch Volunteer FD in Watsontown, PA owned the X-Williamsport Snorkel up until the late 90's early 2000's. I am not sure exactly where it went after it left there, but I do know it had a Federal Q2B on the front bumper and the Farmington rig is lacking that. I was under the impression when it left West Branch it headed out to Western USA somewhere, but could be wrong. Any more information on where either of these units are now would be GREATLY appreciated. I am currently trying to track down the old West Branch Pioneer and no one has any clue where it has ended up. HELP!!!

The Farmington rig and the West branch rig were both ex Williamsport. The Farmnington rig ended up in Ambridge Beaver county PA

Fayette County, PA - Guest - 03-06-2007

Well, I am kinda confused now. Sitting here discussing the X-Williamsport Snorkel and from what we can figure out they only ever had 1 in service that ended up in Watsontown, PA.

Just double checking you are referring to Williamsport PA correct?

Fayette County, PA - Guest - 03-06-2007

Yes I am refering to Williamsport PA. I shot the west branch and the Farmington rig the same year only 2 weeks apart

Fayette County, PA - Guest - 03-07-2007

Thanks for the reply. I am going to have to start researching this more to see where the old West Branch Pioneer actually ended up. There was nothing better as a kid than running the 3 blocks down to the fire station to watch the only rig in the fleet with a Q2B on it head out of town on a job.....boy do I miss those days of the Hahns and ALFs at West Branch. If anyone has any more information on either of these 2 Pioneer Snorkels, PLEASE pass it along.

Better late then never I say. I have just been going through this thread. I am looking at my Watsontown photo, and can assure you that the Watsontown rig is not Farmington, or Ambridge. Watsontown had a front suction, the ALF emblem on the front was different because of this, it had 2 wipers, the Ambridge/Farmington rig has 3, Watsontown had the cattle gate mansavers on the jumpseats. I could go on and on.

Looking at the photo I have of the Williamsport Snorkel, it matches the Watsontown rig. I don't know for sure, but I don't think Williamsport had 2 of these rigs, but I will see what I can find out about that.

A beautiful rig. Great to see it stay in Connellsville. Ford City and New Kensington still have theirs.

I was wondering who bought this rig from the Denbo auction?

Great job on cleaning the Seagrave up. I think it looks better than the new one.

Fayette County, PA - Rheems1 - 12-23-2008

Monarch recently sold the international-KME engine to a Broker, they are still running it probaly until their new Rosenbauer arrives don't have all the details on that yet. they still have the closed cab CF

The CF that Latrobe #1's Pioneer replaced, wasn't that Madison, Westmoreland Co. old engine?
