Phil, in September a freak windstorm caused the two tower cranes for the span's high line system to collapse. They have since brought in two large tower cranes from parts assembled from all over the world, to try and get back on track. You can go to the web site and watch the progress, as well as read the updates and such. The show on Discovery was awesome, but alas all that work was destroyed when the two towers collapsed. Rich

That shot of the supports was taken last weekend when I was in Vegas. The same time as I shot the Boulder City, NV rigs I just posted.
Thanks for posting the shot David. When I was there last July there were only the shorter supports in the back. The the front two are new. How long ago was this shot?

There was a show on Discovery Channel awhile back, it followed the project. There were lots of delays with lighting storms, high winds in the canyons and the temperature being too hot for the concrete.
Here are the last shots of that trip last weekend to Vegas.

1) Engine 18 2006 Pierce Quantum CBRNE 1500/500/25A job#18384-02

2) Truck 17 2005 Pierce Quantum 1500/300/100ft RM platform job#16769-01 not the exact shot I was looking for. The crew from Sta17 just finished PT and in the afternoon there wasn't a great place around the station for a photo. This is obviously on the street just next to the station. Not perfect, but pretty good.

I couldn't get 4 shots in 1 reply for some reason. Here are the last 2 from Vegas. -David

1) Truck 16 2002 Ferrara (I am pretty sure its a Inferno - correction?) 75-ft RM 1500/400 #H2016

2) a CCFD staff vehicle. Not sure the year and I didn't note the model. But thats a Toyota. Might be a Yaris??

Thats it

So Ed, knowing your track record on traveling and catching fires...did you at least win some money? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Lol' />

I got a few shots from Vegas last week. These are from the Las Vegas Fire & Rescue station near downtown. Not the best pics.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue- They had approximately 6 of these, all unmarked, anyone know what they are for? Arson investigation? There are LED's in the grill, on the front fender, and along the interior headliner. I was also curious about who covers what in Vegas, obviously there is Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, but I saw Clark County FD on the strip.
