Uh no, this is not a Virginia truck, it served Orleans VFC, Allegany County,MD. #43 from 1981 to 2002. It originally was at Elkridge,Md. from 1960 to 81.

The Dunbar Mack CF is a 1974 and originally served Connellsville, PA. Dunbar is about 5 miles outside Connellsville in Fayette County, they got it around 1990.

Jack,

That is an old Eastman monitor on this rig's roof. This may be the only one that Chesterfield ever had. They bought it from surplus from Richmond. We used this type of monitor along with the Akron's before we switched to the Stang monitor. This ride always looked great.

Hmm, The information that the owner provided us for our recent equipment roster (2006) indicates that this rig was from Orlean VFD in Virginia. Can you confirm we're talking about the Mack with Serial#: B85F-1396 so we can correct our records and update the owner who I guess has inaccurate information?

Thanks for the note and the details on the Dunbar unit!

Jack

Thanks for the update John. Unit 103 was my ride when I was running with #10 from '83 to '88. Although the truck was donated to ODHFS for a short period of time back in 2000, it was returned to Wagstaff Circle VFD in 2006 at their request. The current members are working on restoration and rehab. of the unit and it is currently parked back at Station 10.

BTW, I saw Jack M. in DC this week at the CFSI dinner.
