It's amazing this unit is running after the fires and events that it has been part of since it went into service...It was on hand for two many multiple alarm fires in the early 90s, two huge blazes in 1997 and 1998, and was on hand for some of the largest celebrations ever in Chelsea's history...



Whoever ends up owning this rig after it is finally retired will have a true piece of history.

I assume one of the blazes you are reffering to in 1997 was that 9 alarm which involved 6 triple deckers. I remember seeing that truck there...long ride for me, I was 18 and didn't have my own car at the time so I rode my bike there! Beverly to Chelsea, ahh the memories.

That was one of the two blazes, the one you were at was the 1998 Essex St. fire. The other was the 1997 Standard Box Factory fire just 11 months before.
