St. Louis Metro - Guest - 04-16-2010
Matt, do you remember if Lemay 41 had a Q in between the headlights, that that was how you could tell the difference between 41 and 42, since 42's Q was mounted below the bumper?
No, I don't remember a whole lot about 41 pumper, didn't it have double headlights like P-71? I'm surprised I don't have a pic of it somewhere along with the old LaFrance. Maybe more will turn up as I unpack. St. Louis Metro - Guest - 04-16-2010 Just found some more. Springdale FPD in Northern Jefferson County next to Fenton. (Now Saline FPD) Pumper 151 (sorry about the light) St. Louis Metro - Guest - 04-16-2010 Springdale FPD Tanker (Unknown #, 153 maybe?) The weather in St.Louis has been perfect lately. Lets start out on the Illinois side of the river. Olin Brass Works FD, East Alton, Il. Engine 5110 2003 Freightliner/E-One 1250/1000 St. Louis Metro - Guest - 04-16-2010 Wood River, IL. Engine 4214 2009 Spartan Gladiator/Crimson 2000/750 St. Louis Metro - Guest - 04-16-2010 Madison County, IL. Haz-Mat 2006 Pierce Saber This is one of several identical rigs stationed throughout the area as a part of the St. Louis Regional Response System. The Madison County rig is stationed at the Wood River fire station. St. Louis Metro - Guest - 04-16-2010 Now moving back over to the Missouri side of the river. The Wentzville Fire District now has a pink engine in their fleet. The 1991 Seagrave 1500/1000 rig was about to be sold by the district when the firefighters of IAFF Local 2665 had the idea of using it as a community outreach unit. The rig was painted pink by Craftsman Industries of St. Charles, MO. as a symbol of breast cancer awareness. The idea came as a result of the Arizona firefighters 'Pink Heals' tour which stopped in Wentzville last year. Great Job on the part of the Wentzville brothers. Just an fyi, Shady Valley and Springdale merged to form Saline Valley FPD. St. Louis Metro - Guest - 04-28-2010 Here is one of the best shots I was able to get of Mehville FPD 1770. As of last week, the new 1770 has not been placed into service. Mehlville FPD Engine 1770 1995 Pierce Arrow St. Louis Metro - Guest - 05-01-2010 Some shots of St. Peters and St. Charles Fire Protection District from 1985. These districts merged and formed the Central County Fire Protection District in 1999 (I think, corrections welcome). Pumper 551 Pumper 553 Pumper 554 St. Louis Metro - Guest - 05-01-2010 St. Charles Fire Protection District (not to be confused with neighboring St. Charles Fire Department.) Pumper 502 Pumper 504 St. Louis Metro - Guest - 05-01-2010 Matt, you're correct that it was the St. Peters and the St. Charles Fire Protection Districts that merged to form Central County Fire-Rescue. Those pics are from the 1985 FFAM (Firefighters Association of Missouri) Convention that was held in St. Peters that year. I have some of the same pictures. |
