Bernalillo County NM 1953 mack. This is one of the original trucks the department owned and is believed to have been a Tele-Squirt originally.

No, not until 1971. The Bernalillo County FD ws formed in 1958, so the Mack couldn't have been original to them. I seem to recall seeing one of these Macks with a Telesqurt, just can't remember where.....

Mack Fire Apparatus - Guest - 07-17-2012

Squrts and Tele-Squrts were sold as up grades for older rigs when they first

hit the market.

Mack Fire Apparatus - SrFireOfficial - 07-17-2012

I think there were a few in Pennsylvania, maybe Paoli PA?

Mack Fire Apparatus - e290l103 - 07-17-2012

did you get a serial # on it. might be able to give some background on it with the #

I think Paoli's was the one with the 55' Snorkel.

Mack Fire Apparatus - Guest - 07-17-2012

Yes when the 55ft snorkel hit the market it was offered as an up grade for older rigs also.

Mack Fire Apparatus - kf6yvd - 07-17-2012

I could not find a plate with the serial # or a year. No real info available other than what was provided and I thought about when they were formed and the conflict in that year as well. Have already sent a e-mail asking about that very thing...

As far as the TeleSquirt goes I have only seen a few Mack fire trucks in my time so am not very knowledgable in that area..

Cant get too close to it, in a scrapyard. So no info. All it had on front was "Riverside" with the R and E being the biggest letters, getting smaller towards the middle and larger again towards the E. From what I can read, it had "Mack" on the top of the Maltese, "pumper" in the bottom, and "67" in the middle. Anyone know ? Asked the guy about saving it, waiting to hear.

Stay safe, Brothers.

Mack Fire Apparatus - smketrfdny - 08-06-2012

Went to the junkyard today, talked to the foreman about buying it. Was told it was turned in for scrap, but owner asked them to hold it until he could pay them back the cash he got for it. Hopefully, not a BS story. And if not, glad to see a smooth looking C model saved. If it is still nearby, I will try to get a s/n or pump id.

Stay safe, Brothers.

I had a chance to spend some time with this truck today to try and get more info to identify it.

VIN # 95LS1303

Registration showed first year it was registered was 1952 and I did find a plate on drivers side near the bed that talked about a 50' Snozzle. The pump panel has been replaced so no useful information there. Not sure if they will help but I also got Model #s and Serial Numbers off the Federal Signal lights on the truck.

can this be identified further by the Vin #?

Mack Fire Apparatus - e290l103 - 08-13-2012

well I thought I had it. 95LS1303 I had as Nyack, NY. I scanned the shot of that rig and it is not the same one. maybe Frank B has a factory shot of it. Bernalillo County in the 70's and 80's had a nice mix of older L, B and C model Macks from mostly northeast towns.

Yeah I am afraid its going to be rough. All places where the serial number is easily visible are gone. I spent over an hour looking all over that truck (with the exception of the underside) and all I could come up with is the VIN # and those numbers off the Federal Signal lights and siren (doubt those will help any).....

Mack Fire Apparatus - e290l103 - 08-13-2012

no, i am sure the VIN you found is correct. just gotta do some more digging. only theory is that they had at least two L models that I know of. maybe parts flew around to make one rig. I'll keep digging.

Confirmed today that what I saw was accurate on the chassis. This truck was originally Red when they received it

Mack Fire Apparatus - R1SmokeEater - 08-15-2012

Dug this up:

This is the second to last Mack CF pumper chassis produced. We (Yonkers) received the last 2! This was a 1990 Mack CF, but wasn't completed till 1992, due to Ward79 going out. Both were finished by Interstate Mack- this was assigned to Engine-313......(The last one went to E314 for short time-then reassigned to E306)

Any luck by any chance on this?
