I'd love to see some as well. A few months ago I saw the drawings and I was very pleased to see that they went with an L Tank to preserve the low hose bed height. If only the city would see the light and order something like this...

That city would be Richmond. Word on the street is that they are eying Pierce PUC's for the engine replacements FWIW. Last I had heard the new quints will all be Pierce as well, reportedly everything on the Arrow XT chassis. Again this is just rumors as nothing has been done officially yet.

7100 Ex RE425 is sitting on the lot at Singer in Gainesville and has been since it was traded in last Fall.

Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Fire28 - 02-26-2009

I had 7100 on my roster with no info, Thanks for the update.

Mike Im darn sure it was 7062. If its at the shop next time Im out their Ill try to get a picture and info on it.

Also do you have any info on a 7042 or 7308(yes i know this number is right)

Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - stokess - 02-26-2009

7308 is a 1994 E\-One Protector that is currently assigned as E413B, the ready reserve at 13, was sitting there when I walked through the truckroom an hour ago. The County loaned this rig to us when our ready reserve blew its head gasket instead of fixing our 93 Arrow (V-114). The loan was for 2 years to allow us to buy a new engine for frontline and take the 2003/2006 ALF and make it E413B. I just got in from Appleton tonight after the engineering meetings on V-135, our 2009 Velocity PUC which looks like it should be here by Labor Day.

Here is a picture of 7308 at open house last fall.

Chief413,

We were down the other day at your station. I didn't even realize it was lettered 413B or I would have asked to get photos of it. Any idea of a definete date when the Rehab will be available for pictures? The crew said they weren't allowed to move it yet the other day.

I couldn't find any listing for #7062. My memory and notes that I have match Mike in terms of what he posted.

Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - stokess - 02-27-2009

Yea I asked the shop to do that that after the day we ran a call with E413 and there was some real confusion because the career staff got off a yellow rig and the volunteers got off a red rig. The rig is distinct with the lightbars too but you have to know to look for them.

Rehab 413 will be in the building for another few days then taken back to the shop - it's here for A shift to plan out the equipment placement and for us to work with the Plymovent folks to figure out which spot it parks in. Apparatus does not want it being driven around before it goes in service and folks get training on it. I would bet that it will be in the next month that we will have it back and it will be in service but I don't have a hard date.

Chief413,

Thanks for the info.

An update for you Fairfax County guys. Engine 401 will be running with a 2007 Pierce former Engine 407. It will replace their 1997. They were at the shops the other day switching hose over.

Tim,

7308 (now at E-413B) was originally assigned to E-35 in Pohick.

7042 is a 1999 E\-One Cyclone II 1250/750 originally assigned to Engine 404 in Herndon.

Shawn,

I am assuming the 1993 Pierce Arrow (V-114) has been disposed of or sold?

Also, do you have any idea where V-119, the rehabed 1983 Seagrave, ended up?

Thanks Shawn,

Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - stokess - 02-28-2009

Mike,

V-114 was titled to the County around Christmas 2007 to get what they could out of it as part of the deal that brought 7308 in and ordered V-135. It was a win/win, they got some value out of the deal, we got a working engine and didn't have to worry about getting rid of it. I had heard that they traded it to Downtown in return for services rendered and that Downtown was trying to sell it minus a working motor. For a slower house the rest of the rig was in good shape - pay for a rebuilt motor and it would give someone a lot of good service.

V-119 was sold to a VFD in Oklahoma back in 2004 through a broker. They had a flat bed sent for it, we went up to the County dump behind West Ox shops where they built a ramp out of, um, materials available, and one of our AFC's drove it up the ramp onto the flat bed and off it went to OK. There are photos of it being loaded, I'll see if Myke has them electronic and post them here.

Funny side story on that rig, there was a typo on the title dating back to delivery in 83 that I was working with the Chief of the VFD that bought it to fix. I had to call him about the issue and while on the phone asked if they had used it yet. He was all excited - oh yes, worked a barn fire the week it got there, flowed 30,000 gallons through it, worked great - is a nice truck, you have anything else you want to sell?

Amazing how one man's junk is another man's treasure..........
