Mexico had at one time 3 similar Ford Youngs, so I am not sure which on this is, ( sorry I didn't get any info ). I believe it to be the newer of the three and posibly a 76 or a 77. Now it owned by its second private owner.

Thanks Dave,

The two private owners of the 71 are from Cleveland, so I thought it might be the newer of the three, not sure where the 76 ended up. One of the three served with Hastings for a short time but I believe that was the oldest one.( I think it was a 67 ) BTW, Hastings 77 Ford/Young is still for sale. I have a copy of Mexico's history at home I'll look into it.

Per Mexico's 150th Aniv. book. The had three Ford/Youngs all very similar.

A 1967 would be engine 7 and was a 1000/1000, sold to Hastings NY in 1992. Hastings sold it a few years latter, not sure where it ended up

The 1971 would be engine 8 an is the one I posted. I believe it was a 1000/1000. Not sure if it served with any other department. But a friend of mine named Jack Cottet owned it for a while and now a North Bay fireman now owns it. His name escapes me right now.

The 76, that John posted is engine 9 and has served with Cleveland and West Amboy. Also a 1000/1000. I am not sure where this engine ended up.

It should be noted that even thought they use the county numbering system, they also use sequential numbers to mark rigs as they come into service.
