Canada Eh? - Guest - 11-13-2009 Hey Bobby, Any idea why the Q may have been removed? I have buffed there and it sure is busy. I remember riding along for a night at Station 8 and we pulled 18 runs. Lots of burned buildings to be seen! Canada Eh? - atlanticfiretrucks - 11-13-2009 Hey Kenny, The Bronto has seen ALOT of fire lately......the first day she went into active service there was a multi alarm fire. I have a couple good shots of it operating at a fire on Main Street that I took from Fort Howe hill.......As far as removing the "Q", I have no idea why they did that, as all the new trucks will have either a real Q or a Q2b from now on. They did have some minor warranty work, and some painting to do on the boom and the body, so that might be why the Q was removed. Times have changed since you rode last.....there is no Engine 5 or Ladder 5, they were replaced with Quint 5 and run as one unit. Engine 8 still remains one of the most active companies in the SJFD, and they operate with a 2006 E\-One Typhoon 1500/970/30A pumper. That is the only active truck running out of 8's now....Tanker 8 is now at #4 as a spare/reserve, and it still houses a couple spares and utility trucks. On a side note, the old Mack CF/Thibault Aerialscope is now officially gone. She was sitting at a scrapyard for the last 12 or so years, and I got the last photos of it in one piece. She was cut up last year, and the only thing that remains is part of the front outrigger. Its too bad that Rothesay was outbid back in 1995 when the truck was up for auction.......they would have put the money into it and had it refurbished. I know Halifax has an E\-One Bronto coming soon, and I heard Moncton may have a couple new E\-One Quints coming in......the E\-One demo was floating around Moncton a few weeks back. Canada Eh? - Big Dave - 12-01-2009 A very nice looking white Spartan for Truro, Nova Scotia left Fort Garry late last week. It might even be there by now. Due to lousy weather here, I missed photographing it. [/quote] How many quint moncton have ordered. I suppose its 2 for quint 3 and 4. it is 75 or 100 feet quint. did you say how many trcuk are staffed in moncton and have 3 or 4 man per truck. Canada Eh? - atlanticfiretrucks - 12-02-2009 Not sure as to how many they would have ordered if any. I'm assuming 2 for Trucks 3 and 4, as they are getting up there in years and are starting to show their age. I will post the shots of the demo that was there, its not a great shot, but was sitting on the back ramp of station 3 and an officer was goig over the truck with the E\-One rep. Canada Eh? - atlanticfiretrucks - 12-02-2009 E\-One demo @ Moncton, NB Canada Eh? - atlanticfiretrucks - 12-02-2009 as you can see, its an E\-One Typhoon 75' Canada Eh? - atlanticfiretrucks - 12-02-2009 In Moncton there are 3 Pumpers, 2 Quints, 2 Tankers and a Rescue. I believe the Pumpers and Quints all run with 4 men each, the Tankers and Rescue with 1 Each. There is still quite a large volunteer section within MFD, used at long fireground operations. Station 1 - Engine 1, Tanker 1, Reserve Engine 6 Station 2 - Engine 2, Tanker 2, Reserve/Training Engine (Ex Engine 5) Station 3 - Truck 3, Reserve Engine 7 Station 4 - Rescue 4, Truck 4 Station 5 - Engine 5, Tower Ladder 4(manned when needed).
