That brush guard, and paint scheme almost make those ugly fender flares disappear! Wonder how they are going to like the repair bills once that rig is out of warranty and any serious work needs to be done on the motor? Either way it looks like a really nice paint scheme. Kris Texas Emergency Medical Servies - Guest - 01-25-2008
....last one. Bad weather = dirty rig.
John, I missed this the first time around. She looks down right spotless compared to my demo! You could come up here to MI and see my demo for a nbad weather=dirty rig, its filthy (Being very polite to her) and TOO DAMNED cold to wash. Yesterdays balmy high was 2 factoring in the wind chill. It looks like a warm up and car wash will converge this weekend with temps in the 40's WOO WHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kris Texas Emergency Medical Servies - Guest - 01-25-2008 Kris, ....I rest my case, that's why I STAY in South Texas!!! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> And as far as working on the engine of that F450, you're correct...it's gonna be a night mare. Glad I'm not a mechanic. The old theory of "F-series instead of E-series because the mechanics find them easier to work on" is probably out the window, you think? Oh, and heaven forbid that you "bump" into something without a grille guard on those...I lost count of the coolers all lined up behind that plastic grille!! John Texas Emergency Medical Servies - nealcraig - 01-25-2008 John, Am I mistaken or is the stone guards and rear kick plate SS instead of diamontread? Thanks for sharing, Neal Craig Texas Emergency Medical Servies - Guest - 01-25-2008
Kris, ....I rest my case, that's why I STAY in South Texas!!! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> And as far as working on the engine of that F450, you're correct...it's gonna be a night mare. John
Yeah, funny thing when I was filling up at the gas station today, they mistakenly piped in the weather for Texas. I knew something was wrong when they called for three straight days of sun. But then they said temps in the 70's for Temple. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> You know it's not that bad from June to August up here!! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Well Ok so that's a stretch, I must say I didn't mind Texas when I went down there, of course the 104 degrees wasn't bad becuse it was a dry heat! HA HA HA!! Back on topic you better have a small deductable if you wreck those F-series! Almost makes you think if you have a small fender bender the truck will be written off!! Instead of the huge repair bill. You know being a mechanic might be a good thing, I bet it will pay off real well with this truck. Maybe even better than a salesmen. Take it easy and don't soak up too many of the rays and heat down there. Thanks for sharing, Neal Craig
Neal, Looking at the PICs a second time they do look like SS, so does the rear kick plate. If they are that's gotta cost a pretty penny. Kris Texas Emergency Medical Servies - Guest - 01-25-2008 Neal and Kris, Yeah, the items you asked about are stainless on that Medtec. That was our last Medtec delivery by the way... And Kris, it's been 30s and 40s for several days with drizzle and light rain, however, tomorrow and Sunday are supposed to be 70 degrees!!! Lots of folks sick with flu etc cause the weather this time of year down here is like a roller coaster! But I still love it <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> John Texas Emergency Medical Servies - Guest - 01-26-2008
Neal and Kris, Yeah, the items you asked about are stainless on that Medtec. Your companies decision or Medtec? Boy after a week of low 20's with single digit wind chills the 30's and 40's don't sound too bad. Up here it isn't right if your not sick at some point in January. It's the Michigan way! BTW: When i looked at my previous post I was making fun of the Ford by saying the truck should make him (mechanic) rich, not the Medtec. Kris Texas Emergency Medical Servies - Guest - 01-26-2008 Kris, After many, many years as the Texas Medtec dealer, my boss was approached by Wheeled Coach to be the Texas dealer for them also. The intention was to keep the Medtec line also for the "high end" (and Wheeled Coach for the mid-range), but Medtec got their panties in a wad for some reason and said it was either them or Wheeled Coach. Well, since we sell an awful lot of type IIs down here and Medtec had said they were gonna stop building type IIs (and a couple other reasons) my boss decided to go with Wheeled Coach. I personally think it was a good decision. Not that Medtec doesn't build a good truck, they do, however, the Sutton County truck we just delivered took right at 7 months and folks down here don't want to wait that long. Plus, from my stand point, alot of folks down here don't have the $$ for the high end trucks so Wheeled Coach works better for me. Anyway, Medtec has another dealer now for Texas and I guess all will live happily ever after, LOL. John |
