Fairfax County VA - firemag - 07-17-2007 Dag, That's more apparatus than the FDNY drops on the scene. Nice photos for a working incident!!! Always great to see some Virginia apparatus on here. Thanks Matt. Jerry Fairfax County VA - davemcclung - 07-17-2007 Thanks for the great pics and addition Matt. E416 is set to get one of the 4 new Dash with CAFS when they arrive early next year. Fairfax County VA - hp1530 - 07-17-2007 The dangers of playing with homemade explosives. Quite a response though. Great Shots. Fairfax County VA - davemcclung - 07-17-2007 Well, someone correct me if I am wrong but a full box assignment in any of the NOVA jurisdictions is 4 engines, 2 ladders, 2 rescue squad, two battalion chiefs, and sometimes a medic unit and EMS supervisor. They know how to get alot of manpower on scene quickly. Fairfax County VA - Fire28 - 07-17-2007 Dave, Im pretty sure its 4Eng 2Trks 1Sqd 2BC's 2Ems Supr's 1Med/Amb. By the looks of it they prob had a 2nd Alarm? I counted 10Eng. Also where was this incident exactly I was suprised to see Yorkshire. Yorkshire was moved to cover Centreville's Station 17 (just down Rt 28 from Yorkshire) and then called to the scene. Fairfax County VA - Guest - 07-18-2007 Matt - What a response! Nine engines, three ladders, Rsq, IC, fire marshall. How was it called in to get that many pieces on the scene? Or was it escalated by the first arriving units? Good to see Centreville as the first and last pix. Phil, Bklyn. Fairfax County VA - davemcclung - 07-18-2007 Oups that was a typo, I meant 1 rescue squad. I thought it was 2 EMS sups and 1 medic/amb but they may have recently changed. In any regard more on a box response than most departments across the country. One of the reasons I liked living in Alexandria. Fairfax County VA - Guest - 07-18-2007 NOVA Box alarms vary a little depending on the structure. Townhouses, strip malls and high rises will get an additional "Special Service" that being a truck or a heavy rescue and in some areas of Fairfax an engine runs with a tanker. For a single family like this the run down is: 4 Engines 2 Trucks 1 Rescue 1 medic 1 battalion 1 EMS Supervisor 1 Duty Fire Marshall Some jurisdictions like Fairfax and Arlington will add a Safety Officer. Fairfax County VA - Guest - 07-18-2007 Our colleagues on Canteen 408 also helped support the FRD. Fairfax County VA - hfd556 - 07-18-2007 Nice pics. Fairfax County VA - yvfdfirefighter - 07-18-2007 Do you know what units were on the scene of this fire? Thanks Fairfax County VA - Guest - 09-05-2007 Chief Fairfax County VA - Fire28 - 09-13-2007 Heres a few more from another day in fairfax. Fairfax County VA - Fire28 - 09-14-2007 Last time I tried to gain access. I was quickly turned around by gate guards. So if you have a way for me to get in ill be their no problem. Fairfax County VA - drfeelgood - 09-15-2007 Here are some pics of the new Mack tankers that I took at Singers Gainesville shop this week. One is going to station 41 (Crosspoint) and the other is for 16 (Clifton). Sorry they are not from the greatest angles but several other units parked around them made it difficult to get good shots.
