I like the "Low" Pump panel. Is this a new design?? Or have I just not noticed before? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Icon_crazy' />

Ladder 68 - Aldine paid cash for the 02's and I do believe they did the same for the 06's. The 02's where on a a Saber chassis and where problematic. Mainly the detroit motors give them fits. They do have a nice budget for 2 station volunteer dept. The budget may double next year. They have had a significant growth in residential and commercial development in the last 3 years. Station 3 is in the planning/designs stages right now. Heard there are talks of a Engine and a Tower for that station and also a rescue replacement. As for HFD ordering Pierce pumpers, this is the first that I heard. I would figure that Ferrara was in. I havent heard any complaints from anyone at my part time jobs.

FD141 - The low pump panel was the same design from the previous pumpers that where sold. The chief basicly told the sales rep to copy the pump and body and put on an Arrow XT. There where a few changes though ie. Cat Motors, Larger pumper, Husky Foam system, go from an Onan diesel to Harrison hydraulic. Drove an Arrow XT for the first time on Monday, what an awesome truck. With the short wheelbase and the turn angle of the TAK-4, it can be whipped into some tight places.

FYI - the other two where sold. One is going to Tiki Island just north of Galveston. The other was bought by a dept in Canada. Hope they like the A/C, that thing was cold.

Peace

JB

Texas is just great! Me and the mrs visited in June and had a great time. We didn't know quite what to expect. I don't know if you guys are aware of Mr. Bush's reputation here in Europe, but I guess most Europeans think of Texas like its one big Republican cowboy show <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

Anyway, we loved Texas and all the friendly people we met. I hope to add more to this thread in a little while, still trying to get by with all the other posts. As a heads up, here's Laredo, TX Rosenbauer Panther crash truck. It was one of two Panthers I photographed this vacation, the other in Ft. Worth.

this truck is still in front line service out of station 2, thier volunteer station. It regularly gets pushed up to station 1 which has a paid guy on duty 24/7. One of the VFD's in the county has a fleet comprised almost completely of 50's era apparatus. I've been meaning to go get some pictures from there. Anything else from the area ?
