The Sylvan Beach Buffalo is still around. Last I knew a gentleman named Danny Dunn owned it and was for sale. He kept in a pole barn near his camp near Camden NY. He did contact the Sylvan Beach Fire dept if they wanted it and they had no interest in it.
BTW, by some chance do you have a picture of Central Square NY's 27 Selden/Buffalo

The Sylvan Beach Buffalo is now housed in Andy Leider's warehouse. It's marked Sto-Ne-Nols Fire Dept.

Sto-Ne-Nols is a campgrounds near Camden, or up the other side of Panther Lake. I am glad it found a good home. One of our members wanted us to buy, but I was against it, if it wasn't our, I had no real interest in it.

I believe I can help somewhat...The driver is the private owner of this piece, and his name is Walter "Wally" Reutlinger. He's a former member of North Lindenhurst, now a Commissioner/ member of Sayville, NY. Next time I see him I'll try to find out the history on this one. Otherwise you might try to contact the fire district to leave a message for him. PM me if you'd like...

I found this picture in the village archives a few weeks ago and the historian finally scanned it and sent it to me.
It is a picture of a 1937 Packard, that served as Central Square's first rescue truck. It was donated to the department in 1953 and served untill 1963 when replaced with a little Ford Econoline van. Not the best picture of it but the only picture of it by itself that i have found. It was taken in 1955.
