Paul, good photos. Hey I heard CFD Tk-7 has gone into service. Any photos of her.

Also I heard that LaCrosse has a new KME in service.

What is Hanover doing with the new Seagrave Engines?
John, no I don't have a pic of the new Truck 7 yet but I would venture a guess that Taylor and/or Jerry have gotten photos. I rarely get down to LaCrosse or South Hill these days, so I can't confirm that. As for the Hanover Seagraves, 3 are supposedly being stored at station 5, Farrington is doing training on their's and I think Mechanicsville's is in the station but none are in service. I plan to shoot them once they're in service and submit an article to VFN magazine.

You are welcome. Let me know what the other rig was - maybe we can find it for you.

Mike;

I searched the site here and found it... Shoop had posted it awhile back and I missed it.

One of these days I may scan all of my negatives and post the "New Lexington Years, 1993 - 1996" I shot every rig we built during that time period I worked up there.

Thanks again for everything.

John,

I checked on your question about LaCross. They have two KMEs, but neither are new. Both are 1995 models. Although called Engines 53 and 54, 53 is a 1500 GPM engine, and 54 is an 1800 gallon tanker. I also learned LaCross has purchased one of Henrico's 1990 Pierce squrts. I'm not positive, but I think it's ex-Engine 3.

Paul,

Nice photos. You new camera seems to be doing quite a nice job. Unfortunately, I experienced some problems with mine on the trip last week!

Thanks Jerry. The squirt may have been the one that I was told about. You know when some one gets another piece of apparatus new old or new, it is new to them.

LaCrosse and South Hill needs to merge!

mnsand, firemag, myself, and rpfleer among others travelled to Winchester for the 2009 Apple Blossom Firemens Parade. Unfortunately the weather was not conducive at all for taking pictures. Shortly after shooting E62, the skies opened up and we headed for home. Here is the only rig I shot and it's little more than "a picture is better than no picture".

Paul, good photo. We were going to make it but checking the weather, we stayed home. Always next year!!

Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Guest - 05-01-2009

I hope next year is better. I have been looking forward to the Apple Blossom Parade for months, and then the rain forcast. I couldn't see traveling 3 hours to drive home though.

I guess I was one of the crazy people (although I saw Terry there). I traveled from PA, in which I spent an extra hour on I-81 in Franklin County going four miles because of a tractor trailer wreck. I had rain all the way down, I kept guessing myself but I did that for the Gettysburg parade and DIDN'T go. There was a decent turnout of equipment. They hada haz-mat with a freight train engine leaking something one block from staging and than two blocks down on the same street they had a room & contents fire about an hour before the parade. Once the parade started the sun was out bright. I will start a new topic at some point for the 2009 Apple Blossom parade.

John, I look forward to seeing your pics. I didn't realize until it was too late that I had signed up for OT at Richmond Intl Raceway on the same day until it was too late. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Angry' />

A BAD day at the parade is usually better than ANY day at work!!! The weather actually wasn't too bad when the parade started.
