Below is the unit as it appears with Bullville, photo credits to Michael Prohira and OCNYfire.com New York State - John Kenealy - 12-31-2009 Ithaca NY recently took delivery of a pair of Pierce Arrow XT's. They both have a 1500 pump and a 1000 gwt. The one I shot was at IFD headquarters, Engine 901, Pierce Job #21528-01. New York State - John Kenealy - 12-31-2009 I also drove by the fire station in Varna NY, right outside of Ithaca, and found this FL/E-One rescue outside. It didn't stick around too long and was replaced in the early 1980's by a Pierce Arrow LTI rearmount. A friend of mine who is a paid firefighter in Fairview related that this truck was severly underpowered making it a dog on the hills around the district. Fairfiew had two other Sanford's both engines. The first, a 1965 was rebuilt by Pierce with a 50ft. Telesquirt sometime around 1980 and retired in the mid-1990's. The second was a 1972; it too was rebuilt in the early 1980's with a new E\-One body. I am not aware of how much longer this engine served before being retired. Must have been neat though in the early '70's to see a whole fleet of custom Sanfords <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> New York State - Guest - 01-12-2010 [quote name='mussels' date='12 January 2010 - 09:33 PM' timestamp='1263352380' post='358173'] This rig replaced Fairview's famed Ahrens Fox Quad with the 70ft. midship aerial.
