You know that fire trucks are getting big when the covering ladders are too huge to park inside the station...at least it wasn't raining or single digits like other working fires <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Hysterical' />

I know they have for a while, and wondered if it was a permanent thing, or if the other ladder was out of service for some other reason.[/quote]

Mechanical issue's, Ladder 2 will be back shortly, and with height restrictions. a spare is not a viable option. So the Rescue Run's in place of the truck when they go out.

None of the spare ladders from either Chelsea, Medford, or Boston are able to fit in at Engine 3's quarters?

Finally got up to the Auxiliary to get the skinny on Engine 9.

1974 Mack CF 1000/500, Refurb by Greenwood in about 1986, body carries E\-One logos although the rig never went to Florida. Former Medford Engine 1 (1974-1995), Former Medford Engine 7(1995-2005)

And the Lighting Plant, 1987 GMC 7000/E-One, 15Kw Onan Generator, walk-in "Rescue Style" body. She's 20 years old next month and still looks and runs great.

Wakefield Auxiliary Lighting Plant, taken at a joint drill with Medford Aux and Stoneham Aux. on 9/17. Soon to be replaced.

That CF rig was Medford's first Lime rig. AND the first lime rig I ever saw in my life. Such a sad end for such a fine rig

Massachusetts Fire Apparatus - Guest - 09-19-2007

Not from the Auxiliary, but here is Medford Engine 6, a 1992 E\-One Protector 1250/500.

I don't know for sure if Ladder 3 is still around or not, massfiretrucks.com doesn't list it, and firenews.org does, and I don't get around Medford much to be able to tell you myself. I know they used to have spare engine, Engine 3 a 1987 Pierce Arrow, but again, I'm not sure if thats still the case.

Massachusetts Fire Apparatus - Guest - 09-20-2007

Don't they have the Cf Tower as a spare?
