Quote:This model of International was called the Loadstar CO (Cabover).  The Cargostar (CO-1950) came later and was a wider cab and not quite as homely.
Close. This smaller cab became the Cargostar in 1970. The new larger Cargostar cab and chassis appeared in 1973. It was much more used in the fire-service, specially in Canada it was very popular.

The narrower cab was always the Loadstar CO.  In 1970, the cab was made 10" wider and renamed the Cargostar.  The wider cab was more proportionate and better appearing than its predecessor.  In 1973, the new grille/headlight trim replaced the old Loadstar CO grille, further improving the appearance.

This came from Fountaindale Fire Company also of Adams County. Does anybody know where it and the International/Young in the backgroound came from originally?

Both GMC's are 1978-79 models, the rescue is a K-3500, the box is a cheap Bruco (Morysville).

I believe that Theile is/was a Johnstown area builder of truck bodies that also built fire apparatus back in the 50's - Dr. Stinebaugh can probably provide more details on this.
