State Of Conneticut - B95MACKFIRE - 10-06-2011
From my town. The pump I beleive was a 300gpm Beam hi-pressure pump I beleive but the tank size is correct. I'll check with the guys from Webster Hose on that. It was replaced in 2003 with a KME / Freightliner rescue/squad truck with a 500gpm pump and 300 gwt. It serves as our air/lighting/rescue unit. It sat at a auto repair shop around the corner from my firehouse for a few years before it was sold. It was rumored it went down south to GA to be used at a fire training school. Unsure what actually happened to it after that. Replaced by a Ferrara RM aerial ladder and this rig is now Ladder 1 out of Reef Road firehouse. Still in service with the Stratfield Volunteers. Question: Is the new Engine 5 from Bristol a 4x4 ? Juergen State Of Conneticut - Guest - 10-10-2011
Mark, very nice photos. Question: Is the new Engine 5 from Bristol a 4x4 ? Juergen
Yes it is a 4x4 and will replace a 1990 E\-One Cyclone 4x4 which will become a spare. State Of Conneticut - Guest - 10-10-2011 The City of West Haven is a very unique Fire Department. There are three separate fire districts, each with its own chief, board of commissioners, budget and tax rate. All of the career staff are represented by IAFF local 1198. In addition to the career staff, each district maintains its own volunteer force. The Center District runs this 2000 Pierce Quantum 1250/750 pumper equipped with both A and B foam assigned to Engine 21. Although it is hard to see in the photo, there is a walkway between the cab and body. State Of Conneticut - Guest - 10-10-2011 Engine 24 runs this 1993 Pierce Arrow 1500/700/50 foam pumper. This rig originally saw service as West Shore Engine 31, and was refurbished in house by the talented members of the WHFD's motor maintainance division. West Haven was the first department in the Metro-New Haven area to utilize the red/white paint scheme when two 1973 Hahn pumpers were purchased State Of Conneticut - Guest - 10-10-2011 West Shore Fire District Quint 33, a 2008 Ferrara 1500/450/30 foam/77' aerial. This rig replace an aerial and the previous posted Pierce Arrow pumper. West Shore is the only district in West Haven to run non-traditional red rigs, first using a lime-yellow/white combination to these striking white rigs with blue stripes. State Of Conneticut - Guest - 10-10-2011 The Allingtown Fire District of West Haven runs this well equipped 2005 E\-One 2000/450/95' tower as Tower 1. This truck responds to the University of New Haven main campus. The AFD responds with an engine, this truck, and a rescue/ambulance, as well as volunteer back-up to all structure responses, hence the quint capabilities. The AFD was a Mack lovers paradise, running 3 CF pumps and a CF tele-squrt well into the 1990's. Please excuse the 'blurry finger shot" State Of Conneticut - Dfd3037 - 10-10-2011
Engine 24 runs this 1993 Pierce Arrow 1500/700/50 foam pumper. I suspect the crew doors are setup like the Dash top mount rig one of my old stations had.
