Or was it simply a station move of the 1 company? I ask because of TAC1 and the older TAC2 designations. Also, any idea what Hartford Co.'s have been closed over the past few years? Thanks in advance. Thanks in advance.
According to a roster I have from 1988 or so: Tac 1 was quartered with E8 at Park and Affleck. Tac 2 was quartered with E2 and L3 at Main and Belden. State Of Conneticut - tntway - 10-29-2011 Dave is correct. somewhere around 1996, Tac-2 was disbanded and Tac-1 was replaced with a 1996 Mack MR/ Saulsbury. it then became known as "the Tac" although the official designation is still Tac-1 and is currently a 2006 Ferrara heavy rescue. in the last 20 years or so, District 3, Engine 4, Ladder 1 and Tac-2 have all been disbanded. however, i recent times (with the new chief) D-3 has gone back on line. when certain emergent situations call for it....as in tonight's snowstorm, Tac-2 does go back on line using the 1996 Mack. hope this helps State Of Conneticut - John Kenealy - 10-29-2011
Truck 2 in Danbury operated this 1990 Pierce Arrow 105' midmount ladder.
No, I'm sorry Juergen State Of Conneticut - Ladder 68 - 10-30-2011 Thanks for the info Dave and TNT. I noticed the '96 Mack had "Rescue 1" on the side. Was it reffered to as Rescue 1 before being designated "TAC 1"? Thanks in advance. State Of Conneticut - Dfd3037 - 10-30-2011 I've been looking for a photo of west havens old 29 the gmc with the body mounted scba in the yellow bags. My son saw a black and white photo and asked me if I have any color ones and I told him I would see if I could find one here any help would be appreciated. State Of Conneticut - tntway - 11-01-2011 Ladder 68--Hartford's rescues have always been designated Tac-1 and Tac-2. i really have no idea as to why the Mack was lettered Rescue1. always kinda puzzled me.....lol sorry i didn't get back sooner......been out of power for 2 1/2 days State Of Conneticut - kieferfire - 11-01-2011 Some more rescues from CT, this time built by E\-One: Rescue 444 from the Sandy Hook FC in Newtown was this 1988 Ford C-8000/E-One.
