Thanks Alex.

It's a sharp looking color scheme.

Don't know if that will open but photo is from MDFR's facebook page.

Guys from Orlando were headed to SVI last week for pre-build of the new rescue. I had to take some photos of the current rig for them to use out there. The new rig is going to be a monster! Also, new Woods 14 has arrived. Just a small diamond plate body on the rear from photos I saw. It's currently kept at their shops. Will be in service in a couple months after drivers training is complete.

Is Miami Dade going with Rosenbauer still or are they back on with Pierce?   Either way I love the grey top!!!

Thanks

Johnny

ltjohnny,

MDFR has 31 Rosenbauer Commanders on order, E12 will get the first one currently in production.

FLORIDA RIGS - Juice - 03-19-2014

Are you kidding me? Not to be so negative, but I HATE the Commanders with a passion. This will quickly change my opinion of MDFR's trucks, I've liked them up to this point. Besides, why have 1 Quantum with this paint scheme and then switch the entire rest of the fleet?

Trav!

The Pierce Quantums are refurbs with new cabs. They received at least 2.

FLORIDA RIGS - srq2009 - 06-02-2014

Hillsborough County has been getting a steady stream of new rigs, in a new scheme of black over lime.

Quints 9, 12, and 39 (coming) look to be E\-One Typhoon industrial pumpers (or high volume anyway) with 50' Telebooms. These replace regular engines and are a first for HCFR.

Engines 6 and 32 seem to have rescue-style Typhoon pumpers with added compartments, and just this weekend a friend who works for HCFR sent me a picture of the new Engine 1, which also looks high-volume (foam, maybe?), but no teleboom. Station 1 covers industrial parts of South-Central unincorporated County.

Truck 6 got a new E\-One tower not too long ago, in old white over lime, and several new ambulances are in the works at Horton, a switch from International to Freightliner cabs. I heard HCFR may be switching again to Kenworth ambo chassis, but I can't remember where I heard that chatter.

The HCFR page on Facebook is good about covering these things.

Thats a long truck..

FLORIDA RIGS - kammrk - 06-02-2014

Miami-Dade should receive the first of (31) new Rosenbauer/Commander pumpers in the new color scheme, rigs will be back to traditional side mounted pump-panal and at the last minute the rigs where all upgraded to the chrome grills with square headlights

all the bells/whistles aluminum wheels other upgrades, should see the first sometime in aug. with (5) per month starting in sept./oct.

Also expecting (20) new Freightliner/Braun medic rigs also in the new silver over lime  with upgrades as well (extended cab) sometime this july/aug.

Alex, after examining photos of Engine 9's previous rig, this rig, E1, looks like the old E9 with the Snozzle boom removed and repainted into the new livery.

FLORIDA RIGS - Guest - 06-03-2014

Joe, that makes sense.  When we were there in late March, it was headed up to E\-One to have the boom removed and eventually be returned to the fleet as an engine.

They're going away from the Spartan Furion chassis on the medic units?
