Charleston, SC - bcfd424 - 03-02-2013 I read the 2013 - 2015 strategic plan for Charleston Fire Department earlier and it listed that they had ordered a tiller ladder to replace one of their truck companies. Anyone have any further information on this? Charleston, SC - chief60 - 03-02-2013 I know they just approved (January 8) the purchase of a Pierce 100' tiller, fully equipped. It is an Arrow XT with 500hp Detroit DD13. $933,145 for the truck $169,401 for equipment $3606 for Performance Bond and Sales Tax Grand total of $1,106,152.00, delivery in 8-9 months. Charleston, SC - nealcraig - 03-02-2013 Yes they have ordered a tiller. Should actually work well as they have some narrow/tight streets near the market area and add traffic etc and narrow is being nice. Charleston, SC - chief60 - 03-02-2013 A tiller will be a great asset for Charleston, I don't know how they move those towers around downtown. They have some excellent truck co. drivers! |
