Thanks for sharing Mutual-Aid LZ Garrison, NY - Richard_L_Dean_07405 - 01-26-2013 Just curious if the chopper is from Westchester because we've had Westchester's respond here to our area here in NJ a number of times over the years being only about 30 miles west of the Tappan Zee Bridge. Also have had Lehigh Valley come here from 90 miles away. Mutual-Aid LZ Garrison, NY - Guest - 01-28-2013 Life Net no longer stations a bird out of Valhalla (Westchester Medical Center). The closest is out of Stewart Airport (Newburgh, NY), and the next closest is Albany, NY. http://www.lifenetny.com/ Great photos by the way! Mutual-Aid LZ Garrison, NY - Richard_L_Dean_07405 - 01-28-2013 I would guess that Stewart is a good central location. After all it is home to NY Air National Guard planes including some C5A's nad a growing number of flights as an alternative to Kennedy, Newark and LaGuardia. It is only about 40 miles north of us. On the other hand, only 5 miles from NJ's state line with both Orange County NY and Rockland County NY is Hackensack University Hospital's bird stationed at Greenwood Lake Airport in West Milford NJ, a township next to my borough, with that bird only about 10 or 12 air miles from us. I guess that one might respond to calls in NY State now and then. |
