Westchester County NY Fire Apparatus - TacSupport1 - 07-27-2011 This past week, I was in NY/NJ for a family reunion in NJ. On Thursday, July 21st, I had the opportunity to take a photo hunt in Westchester County (New York, 1st county north of NYC/Bronx) and a brief sweep through the northern Bronx. I managed to get all photos within 10 hours, yet there was so much I wanted to photograph, I ended up missing out on a lot of apparatus I wanted to shoot and friends I wanted to visit. I apologize for no captions on the photos, too tired, if you have a question just ask. Hope you enjoy these photos (at the following link) x635's Westchester Photo Hunt: http://www.emtbravo.com/x635photohunts/westco0711.html For 60 more photos from this photo hunt, visit: http://www.emtbravo.com/x635photohunts/westco0711.html Westchester County NY Fire Apparatus - TacSupport1 - 07-27-2011 For 60 more photos from this photo hunt, visit: http://www.emtbravo.com/x635photohunts/westco0711.html Westchester County NY Fire Apparatus - TacSupport1 - 07-27-2011 From: http://www.emtbravo.com/x635photohunts/westco0711.html Westchester County NY Fire Apparatus - TacSupport1 - 07-27-2011 From: http://www.emtbravo.com/x635photohunts/westco0711.html Westchester County NY Fire Apparatus - TacSupport1 - 07-27-2011 http://www.emtbravo.com/x635photohunts/westco0711.html Westchester County NY Fire Apparatus - amcare38 - 07-27-2011 Where is the red & white unmarked crown vic from? Glad to see they kept the bar alive beyond rotators, and were able to use it as an LED bar as well. Great photos as always Seth, Trav! Westchester County NY Fire Apparatus - Roto-Ray - 07-27-2011 Trav, I believe that's actually a Whelen Delta bar. Westchester County NY Fire Apparatus - Guest - 07-27-2011 Great photos Seth. Westchester County NY Fire Apparatus - TacSupport1 - 06-27-2013 I had thought there was already a pre-existing thread on the apparatus of Westchester County, NY, but I can't find it. Mods, if there is one, please just merge this. Westchester County, NY borders the Bronx to the north until the Putnam county line. It is bordered by Connecticut on the east, and the Hudson River on the west. The County is made up of a diverse mix of career, volunteer, and combination departments with some interesting rigs. Westchester also includes a lot of infrastructure, large residential complexes, commercial and industrial facilities. There is a large airport served by jetBlue and Southwest, amongst other civil aviation. Two major Metro North commuter train lines run through the county. The Hudson River also runs throughout the county with a large bridge (Tappan Zee) undergoing replacement,. There are several 40+ foot story high rise mixed use buildings. And numerous Interstates (I-87, I-287, I-95, I-684) and parkways running through the county. As far as water supply, there are large hydranted areas and rural areas dependent on tankers. I could go on and on, but I'll get the photos started.
